My wedding was almost perfect. Almost, except my bridesmaids bouquets were so pretty but they must have been old or something because the heads of the flowers and roses kept falling off. We just taped them back together. Omg. And we messed up the sand pouring portion of the ceremony because we didn't get to finish practicing because it started to rain during our practice ceremony (we live in the PNW and it rains a lot, even in July) and finally our cake started falling over before the ceremony and we had to use straws and toothpicks and forks and knives in the back to hold it up. Once we cut it for the cake cutting event, it almost fell over completely. It was a mess and was crooked and awful looking by that point, but it tasted good. But it is definitely a day we will remember and even through all that, we have been together for 6 years and married for 4 years now and still going strong! :) ♡♡♡

As a bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding, imagine my surprise when she and her newlywed husband both smashed the cake in my face, instead of each others' as everyone expected!

I had a destination wedding on New Year's Day and several guests flew in which was costly. I advised the DJ to do the normal sequence of things, and we did the dollar dance. In retrospect I feel it was tacky, and embarrassed as it wasn't necessary.

The surprise that happened at a wedding I attended was that another couple ended up getting engaged there!

We had finished saying our pieces and the minister told me to place the ring on his finger. I reached for the wrong hand. He tried to switch, but I wouldn't let him! I don't know what, or if, I was thinking. After the ceremony, the minister told hubby he had a way out if he wanted. I was not amused then, but it's funny now!

My husband asked our photographer if she was comfortable shooting a film camera instead of digital (as he is a photographer and prefers film), which she stated she was and there was not one good photo of just the two of us from our professional :(

We hired a group with strolling violin players plus an accordion player for my wedding reception to play during dinner. As we were enjoying dinner all of a sudden we heard Jingle Bells playing (my wedding was in May!). Turns out when the group asked a certain table if they had any requests, my 7-year old brother in law really wanted to hear some Christmas music.

We were on our way to City Hall with my Dad driving, and I told him to turn around and go home. Fortunately he ignored me, and we have been married almost 44 years, and, as my husband has said often quoting Henny Youngman, many of them have been happy!

Instead of walking slowing the flower girl and ring bearer held hands and skipped fast down the aisle. Everyone was laughing. They were so cute.
