Young athletes today might not be elite athletes (yet), but they love to play sports. But today, they might feel like nobodies, with big dreams of being somebodies. POWERADE believes that with the right motivation these everyday athletes can realize their potential and one day be the athletes that they look up to. POWERADE is celebrating this potential in the “Just A Kid” campaign. We want to hear about how you support young athletes and the story behind what helped him or her reach their full potential.

I am middle aged and joined the gym for the first time in my life. I want to be an example for children and adults alike. I support myself and try to be a role model by taking my health seriously.
My daughter, Savannah. With soccer she has learned how to get her emotions under better control and make life long friends.
My daughter was quiet and shy until she started playing softball. Being a part of the team and having fun and the encouragement of her coach, brought her out of her shell.
My 17 year old son. He's been involved in sports since the age of 5. Tennis, Football, Basketball & Baseball. I have been to every practice/game and am constantly cheering on my son and all the other players. I have tried very hard...in spite of other parents & coaches to teach him that he will NOT win every game, but as long as you feel you have done your best, I AM PROUD OF YOU!!!! Improve where you need to, help your teammates, and you will all grow and learn!
My son is a football player and it's been tough for him to play he has traveled to a few colleges hoping to play and it didn't work out but now he's at a school that he's finally going to get that chance in all his endeavors he has never given up and now will play this year I'm so happy for him
I have an Niece, who loves to play any kind of sports! She's what you would consider not a great athlete, but she tries really hard!! I love to watch her at her games, and I know it makes her feel, pretty special!
My nephews are really active in sports and I go to as many games as I can!
My youngest cousin decided to try out for cheerleading. She did gymnastics before that for a few years but eventually stopped when she started getting older and more shy as school went on. Finally, she decided she wanted to be a cheerleader and her attitude and spirit has went way up since starting. I could not be anymore proud of her!
My tween daughter just started track a few weeks ago and she loves the team/solo aspect of it.
My son loves karate!
Football is everything in our small town ~ my little boy is looking forward to being on the middle school team next year. I'm so happy he's found something that he loves :)
My daughter has been positively impacted by sports, especially water sports. She's in college now and is continuing on with her love of the water.
My niece is a middle child with chronic eczema. She has self esteem issues but soccer has helped her shine! I try to take her to her games when I can.
I learned you have to be open and let your kid try out different activities. We went to a grand opening of karate studio thinking my son would be interested. His younger sister who tagged along because they were giving out free balloons ended up earning her black belt.
My nephew has been positively influenced by sports. He was falling behind in school before he started playing basketball. I'm one of his biggest fans.
