I was actually positively impacted by sports. I was constantly getting into trouble and had anger issues. My parents got me into sports and I learned to control my anger and it gave me something to strive for.

I have a dear friend who was hanging out with the wrong crowd, getting into drugs and drinking at a very young age. Once someone took him under their wing and got him involved in sports, he completely changed his life around and is an amazing person now!

My son is so into his basketball program at the local Boys & Girls Club and I'm proud of him. He's made a lot of strides in his grades and behavior this year and this would be a great reward for it!

My nephew is a wrestler. It has taught him discipline and also how to be a team player. It also allows him to show his individualism and win for himself too.

My son just started learning to ice skate for hockey and as parents, we are always trying to encourage, support and praise him to teach him to stick with it. So important for him to learn the importance of commitment at a young age!

My oldest son (24y) was a year round athlete beginning in elementary. He is very influential with his younger brothers (16y & 4y), always taking time to take them to sporting events & introducing/practicing new skills. As a mom of all boys, sports has been a great way to help them connect despite the age gaps. The baby (10mons) is even starting to get in on the action!
