Candy, Crayons, and Fruits Make Fun and Simply Ravishing Shades
Some of our favorite beauty YouTubers have thought outside the box and created DIY lipsticks with candy, fruits, crayons and eyeshadow. If you are like many of us, you probably have shades of eyeshadow you never wear because the color just doesn’t work. Alejandra Styles puts her unused eyeshadows to work as new lipstick shades in her DIY lipstick tutorial.
And YouTuber SaraBeautyCorner offers up an incredibly unique DIY lipstick tutorial using all kinds of colorful candies like gummy worms, jelly beans, and lolly pops. Her shades of cotton candy and rainbow lipstick are something out of a story book.
Going All-Natural and Organic
For those of us most concerned about keeping it natural, but still getting great color and lip-feel out of our DIY homemade lipsticks, the Simple Life Mom blog has a great recipe that uses sweet almond oil, cocoa butter, and beeswax for the texture. Use natural ingredients like cinnamon, turmeric, and beet root powder to play around with different shades. She also adds a dash of peppermint or lavender oil for a nice fragrance.
Having Amazon a finger tip away to order empty lipstick tubes and little empty tub containers my DIY lipstick has gotten a whole lot easier! Get a bunch for really cheap!!! I bought my daughter a kids lip gloss kit which was fun but most definitely gonna try the DIY candy lipstick next. My 11yr old daughter just loves DIY projects. Keeping her hands and mind busy during this pandemic is great plus we all get in on the creativity too!
Though this sounds like fun, it also sounds like a big fat mess to clean up. Maybe if I started doing it on the back porch closer to winter so the lipstick can harden. #OutsideMyComfortZone #DIYLipstick
I love this. Ive actually bought my daughter one of the little lips balm making kits. Unfortunately the kit wasn't well made. I'm definitely doing this with her :)
This is great advice! Seems easy enough. Something I'd consider trying!
I have never made my own lipstick but it looks like something I should give a try. I have always been intersted in making my own lipstick and it seems like my wish has just came true. It looks like an easy way to make home made lipstick
I have never done this but it would be fun to do with my 15 yr old daughter and friends.
What a great idea!!! I especially love the idea of making my own lip balms. I always feel better knowing the exact ingredients in the products I’m using.
Have never made lipstick at home but these photos are making me want to try!!
Wow! Nice article. I will try soon.
pretty
Nice
I will be trying it but have not in the past
I would definitely try this, but not sure the cost to make it "cute" would be worth it and I'd likely just mostly appreciate the opportunity to recycle empty vials.
Ive mixed vaseline & an eyeshadow before for lipstick.
I've never tried before. Not sure it's something I'd invest time and money into....
