I really love Too Faced shadow insurance. It's a bit pricey, but it works great as I tend to crease. They also make a shimmery one that you can actually use by itself if you wanted. Either way, Sephora has it.

I use Mary Kay eye primer, shadow lasts all day with it, and colors appear vibrant.

Since you haven't really used one before, I recommend trying e.l.f's $1 essential eye primer in sheer. It works great and is only $1! I do have high end primers such as Urban Decay's Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but I find myself reaching for the e.l.f. primer more often! It's great and doesn't make your eyeshadow crease and it lasts all day!

I got a tip from a beauty expert in magazine. She said to use concealer ( as in the tube type of concealer) . Most of us have a tube of extra concealer in our makeup bags that we don't use b/c we don't particularly like it for one reason or another. Just apply the concealer to your eyelid, take your fingertip and rub it on evenly. Then apply your eyeshadow. I have been doing this for about 2 yrs now and it works wonderfully. My eyeshadow lasts all day and it makes my eyeshadow 'pop'. The colors show up much better when I use concealer as a primer. And concealer is cheaper too. You can get an inexpensive tube of concealer if you don't have one already. I have never tried a liquid concealer for eye shadow primer, so I don't know if a liquid concealer would work as well. The tube concealer works b/c of the consistency of the concealer.

I use Urban decay primer potion. Lasts all day even in the warm humid weather. Tried others which were still good but this one is my very favorite. I never had to buy it because it came as a set with my eye shadows.

If you're on a budget: I recommend trying e.l.f's $1 essential eye primer. Does a great job. I also recommend Urban Decay's Primer Potion in Original or in Sin- great high end primers!
