We all love to indulge in snacks every now and again. According to our recent survey, so do our children! How do people feel about snack foods and what kind of snacks are they providing their families? We were curious to hear more about SheSpeaks members' thoughts on this topic. We conducted a study recently and below are some of the key findings.

Not shocking but some kids really don't give you a choice.
Yes, I can totally relate!
i honestly do not find my son eats poor snacks. He loves snacking on healthy items....fruit, veggies, hummus, pretzels, jello, almonds, ricecakes....things that I do not feel guilty about.
I try to get them healthier snacks, but when they go places and I can't see them they tend to snack on the wrong things.
I try to give my son leftovers as snacks, since they are real food. Fruit too. But as a teenager he sometimes eats junk. At least he eats good food for the most part.
yes i agree with whats stated above
This is pretty interesting. I do give the kids snack (their choice of snacks) but I also make sure they eat fresh fruits and veggies as well. So hopefully I am balancing things out!
I am guilty over letting my kids over snack even though most are healthy. I worry they will be hungry.
Pretty much right on the nose for this mom!
My kids eat a good amount of fruits and vegetables because that is what my husband and I eat on a regular basis. Packaged snacks are reserved for school and/or long car trips or as a special treat. We don't deny them most snacks, but what my kids ask for is typically healthy to begin with; fresh fruits, cut-up veggies, yogurt, trail mix, whole grain crackers, etc.
I hardly ever buy snacks tat are not healthy for my kids. Most of the snacks I buy have fruit or vegetables in them. There is too many bad snacks out there for kids now days.
I agree with the chart. I would love for my kids to eat more fruit and veggies. The problem is they have a limited shelf life and don't last long.
Way things are nowadays not shocking at all
I agree with dashcar. I also sometimes have to feed my child prepackaged foods because he has sensory processing disorder and is extremely picky with his foods. If I force vegetables and most fruits on him, he'll just stop eating completely. I'd rather know that he's got something in his stomach rather than nothing. I do try to change things up a tiny bit every once in a while and I do try to stick in vegetables where he cant see them or notice them but its far from what he should be having.
sounds about right one of my kids will try and eat any thing the other one has to be force to try something
