We all love to indulge in snacks every now and again. According to our recent survey, so do our children! How do people feel about snack foods and what kind of snacks are they providing their families? We were curious to hear more about SheSpeaks members' thoughts on this topic. We conducted a study recently and below are some of the key findings.

yep..this is true...and especially more so for moms with kids that have special endocrine system issues. The guilt is horrible.
I will admit I do the cookies and chips also fruit is there also.
My son is soo picky! Trying to help him try new things is hard. I have been weeding out all the junk food and replacing it with healthier options.
I have a pre selection container with healthy snacks in the fridge for my kids, so if they get hungry between meals or after school, they have a healthy snack waiting for them, but nothing that's too much and will ruin the next meal.
very interesting to see put like that.
I have a picky eater but no guess since I choose the snacks & he knows there is a limit on "junk" he rarely asks for anything different. I usually give fresh fruit..but I will have packaged snacks also such as granola bars & occasionally little Debbie snacks..which I think he and his dad sneak and eat lol. I dont feel bad about it though.
Pretty much guilty of the above.
So true!
It's hard to get kids to eat healthy especially with picky eaters. I have to agree that most of our snacks are packaged snacks. I'm slowly getting my picky eater to eat more fruit I pretend there is nothing else in the home to eat and lately it has been working with fruit so far.
Totally agree with all of it. We give in way to much to our kids and instead of giving them healthy snack we tend to do the opposite :(
I agree with this.
My little girl loves prepacked snack because they are easier for her carry around and she can pick them herself.
My children are those small few that I never have a problem with. They eat healthy and I do feel lucky about that. Some days their snacks are not healthy but not enough that I feel guilty about it. A lot of the packaged snacks that I buy are those to-go fruit pouches or danimals. A lot of these snacks are expensive so I usually just buy a huge thing of honey greek yogurt, add some granola, and some fruit.
In today's busier world for young parents and the pressure to do all the "right things" for their children on with their lives on display via social media, these survey results don't surprise me. Being a Grandmother and watching my children try to juggle their lives and be attentive, responsible parents I sympathize with the fact that if you're not Super Parent's that are 110% organized and have backup plan B, C, and D you would on occasion, give the children something that isn't the healthiest food to get through the day until meal time. The price and convenience weigh heavily on snack decision when you are having to make buying decisions so your children can have snacks every day.
I have picky eaters. Some times I feel they don't eat enough. If a snack is what it takes for me to makes sure there is something in their tummies, then a snack it is. :) I do make sure to keep the healthier snacks though. I do not buy lots of candies. Usually Yogurts and fruit cups.
