This is not real bdsm This is someone imagination of it or fantasy whatever the plot was ok I guess but it's not bdsm it's a bit kinky but cool your jets ppl if you wanna spice up the bedroom do it but reading a book doesn't make you like hardcore or less vanilla not putting anyone down just wasn't my cup of tea

I must have been one of the few people who wasn't impressed at all with this book. It's not that I'm a prude and opposed to the content, I just thought it was so poorly written it was hard to get through. I enjoy fluff books just as much as the next gal (I've read all the Sookie Stackhouse books) but there is something about this book that is just dreadful. I will say if it adds a spark to someones' relationship than go for it!

I just finished the first book and was not impressed. I agree with the comments that the book is not very well written, which can take away from the scenes. Most of the time I wanted to shake Ana and yell what is wrong with you. Eventhough she started as an early 20-something year old virgin, I just cannot see how she could be so naive.

I feel like I'm the only one on the planet who thought this book was lackluster. Especially since my friends and the rest of the world were totally captivated by these books. I can't believe the hype it's generated. The storyline was really predictable and corny, some parts were just ridiculously unbelievable. The writing was pretty terrible to boot. I'm amazed how cliche the sex scenes were, I found myself skipping pages to get on with the story. I won't be rushing to the hardware store for bondage gear anytime soon.

very predictable, and not realistic to real life

I was super excited to read these books because everyone said they were good. I thought that they were ok. The story was lacking in my opinion(even though I did read all of the books) and I wasn't a fan of her writing style. I would reccommend this book if you don't have anything better to read. I definitely wouldn't buy it I would borrow it from someone.

While this book can occasionally be stimulating and exciting it was overall an insult to me as a woman. All Ana is looking for is a man to own her. She refuses to be independent and only discuss how she wants Christian to take care of her. Her meltdown at the end of the book is reminiscent of a woman losing her identity which she so does in the next two novels.

I really didn't enjoy this book at all. It was a lot of hype, a lot of boring sex related banter, and a general lack of a plot. Like twilight without vampires or inspiration.

This is a great book if you love terrible writing and the use of the same words over and over again. ("... I murmured", "My inner goddess....". Oh this was painful and dumb. It's a shame the author made so much money off of these books. If you're into that type of book, there are plenty more out there with much better story lines and grammar.

I find it hilarious that there's so much attention from book that began as Twilight fan fiction.

I read this book and honestly wasn't very impressed with it. There are better books out there in a similar genre. I think it's popular because it received so much publicity, and not because it's good.

I honestly didn't find the books to be that great. I thought they were somewhat cheesy. I like the genre just not these books in general.

For a Trilogy once formed through fanfiction, it gives it away. I have patience with every book I read; however, there are some that rub me the wrong reason for various reasons. One, repetitive phrases. I understand that Christian enjoys Anastasia nibbling on her lip but it doesn't have to be all the time. Another repetitive and uncomfortable phrase is "inner goddess". Second, too similar to its fan fiction origins. The obsession. The control. The creepy stalking. That's not love. It's creepy. All in all, this book is not very good. It needs more originality and editing. Read at your own risk.

I enjoyed the first book and have just received the last two and am anxious to read them.

I started reading this story because it was highly recommended by friends and I was interested in it because of all the hype. I only gave these books three stars because the authors writing stinks. She repeats herself constantly and has her writing style is a little choppy. With that being said, the story is good and interesting. definitly a good beach read.
