I am a mother of two, all but grown boys, 18 and 21. Our favorite thing to do even when they were babies was to go fishing and camping. We have always tried to teach them about nature and how to protect it while enjoying it. Our house was the neighaborhood petting zoo, we took in every baby bird that had been blown out of nest to wild baby bunnies, racoons, squirls, the rare ocasional gardner snake that got ran over and scuffed up " musch to my dislike" that had either lost their mothers or were injured and we returned them to the wild when they were able to fend for themselves. We already have our 4th of july vacation planned to go camping & fishing at the lake. We have invited our friends and my ex husband, his girlfriend, the kids, their girlfriends, and family to join us. We acutually ruff it, we do the whole tent thing and cooking over a camp fire that the lake provides. Does anyone else still enjoying doing this kind of activities with family and friends?

Hi Ladycat9010...I also have a son (he's 24). We spent MANY years camping. He was in the Boyscouts. We camped in good weather, rainy weather & snow..even camped out in what ended up to be a hurricane. We were the only troop that stayed and tuffed it out. There was a building there, we had to go inside because it started to get dangerous out. The only time I didn't like camping was in below 0 temps. We did the whole thing..cooked all our meals on the campfire. Plus my son grew up on a lake. So he's been fishing since about 3yrs old (doesn't eat fish) so he had to learn to carefully let the fish free. We haven't camped out lately..but they are great memories and we all know in our family that we can do it and enjoy it.

When I was little I loved to fish. I had an uncle who a camp near the gulf and always enjoyed going to his camp to spend the weekend. As of sleeping outside, I'm not to sure of that. Recently I was in the camping section at Wal-Mart and all the camping stuff peeked my interest. If I ever go camping it would have to be with people who really knew what they were doing.

My boyfriend and I recently moved. Now we live by the gulf, so we go fishing every chance we get. He doesn't like the taste of fish much, so we end up just taking the fish back home to our parents when we visit. Its relaxing and you get free food out of it! :)

We just bought a 20 ft camping trailer that we are going to upgrade and remodel. Hope to b ready to use it on our first trip in march.

I love camping completely ! My husband and I used to take our kids camping all the time. If we couldn't go somewhere to camp we camped in the backyard. I like to completely rough it otherwise it doesn't feel like we're really camping.

Me and hubby love camping in our big 2 room tent and cooking our caught fish by the campfire. Food taste extra yummy when cooked over a campfire.
