Summer is a great time to travel even if you can’t go far! Sometimes the best places are right under your nose. Take a trip around your hometown pretending to be a tourist. Book a tour, take a class, book a date night and take advantage of the season!
Enjoy the beautiful weather and relax by digging into a great book. Looking for a summer read? You can download one of summer's most anticipated books, Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker, for free, before it hits the shelves.
One night three years ago, the Tanner sisters disappeared: fifteen-year-old Cass and seventeen-year-old Emma. Three years later, Cass returns, without her sister Emma. Her story is one of kidnapping and betrayal, of a mysterious island where the two were held. But to forensic psychiatrist Dr. Abby Winter, something doesn't add up. Looking deep within this dysfunctional family Dr. Winter uncovers a life where boundaries were violated and a narcissistic parent held sway. And where one sister's return might just be the beginning of the crime.
Emma In The Night is a unique, touching and thought-provoking story that will keep you on your toes; you’ll never expect the ending! Get your free download here!
(BookShout.com and the BookShout app are compatible with your smartphone, tablet, desktop computer, and the Kindle Fire HD.)
Summer is all about being outdoors, so put on your favorite swimwear, find a pool, lake or beach near you, and jump in!
Summer nights can be equally as lovely as summer days. Find a nice spot (if you’re in a city you might want to find a location that offers a darker sky), lay out, and gaze away. If you’re interested in all the star names and constellations you can download an app like SkyView or Sky Guide that will tell you exactly what you’re viewing.

I spend my summer reading and crocheting Christmas gifts. I'm also taking care of my elderly mother so my husband and I are unable to take any trips.
I always take my daughters and their families away for a long weekend so I can spend some fun time with all of them. We go upnorth and rent a cottage on a lake and just play in the water, go hiking , have campfires, do silly games and make great memories.
lounging by the beach, barbecuing with friends and family, catching a few outdoor concerts with friends and knocking off books off of my summer reading.
Sitting on my deck, reading, sipping fruit smoothies.
My plans for the rest of the summer are to attend a Peach Festival, go to the Watermelon Days in my town, go to the waterpark, go to a San Francisco Giants game, go to a Mariah Carey concert and to the Nacho Festival.
Working, mostly. But I've been taking a few days off here and there to do fun things, like the beach.
I love sitting on the porch swing and reading in some spare time.
Work, mini vacation to D.C., and then just trying to enjoy being outside as summer is so short here!
I guess that I will spend the rest of my summer working....and sweating. It's too hot to do anything outside here!
