My mom taught me so many valuable things in life! She told me from a young age that I should treat everyone the way I want to be treated and that is so true! She also told me a smile goes a long way! I love her so much and she is not only my mother but my best friend :P

My mom, G-d bless her, passed away 14 years ago. Does a day go by that I don't think of her...Never. She was my rock, my go to person, my love, my everything. She had Alzheimer's the last 10 years of her life, so it was hard to let her know how important she was to me. But during that time, on my birthday she got me a rose. So deep down she remembered. I had a dream about her 3 weeks after she passed and I hugged her and was crying and she kept telling me she was okay. A bit of a closure but she is never never far from my mind.

Some of the best advice my Mom gave me was- anything worth having is worth working for.

The best piece of advice she gave me was that you can't control others only yourself.

being stubborn against others can be handy at times

Mom always said "Men are chicken sh*t!". While that is a bit overzealous, it helped me understand that even the most macho of men has his fears!

My mom is special because she was always my best friend as well. She raised me on her own and she has always been the best mother I've ever met. She taught me right from wrong in every aspect. I gave her a hard time and she was still grand enough to get through me and raise a good citizen, friend, and mother myself. I owe it all to my awesome mother and the best friend I've ever had. I love my mother!

My mother has given tons of advise and still today she is instilling advice. Always the usuall 'treat others the way you want to be treated' and 'people come and go but family is here to stay.' Also to laugh and have fun and tha everything happens for a reason. I will say that i got her attitude and because of her i take no crap from anybody so thats great as well.

My mom is deceased now but the best advice she gave me was when I had my son. She said always know who his friends are and always keep communication open with him. She was so right. I have a very close relationship with my son and he never gave me any trouble. He is a great adult now.

Growing up I despised my mother and all the discipline and supposed wisdom she tried to impart on me. Now that I am grown, I can't be more thankful for everything she did for me. Now that I have my own 9 yr old stepdaughter, I find myself saying/doing some of the same things. If it wasn't for my mom, I wouldn't be the person and stepmom I am today. Honestly, if it wasn't for my mom, I probably wouldn't have been strong enough to take someone else's child under my wing and raise her as my own. She's also a great grandmother! She treats my stepdaughter just like she is one of her own. She's amazing in every way, even if she is a little neurotic, haha (she was organizing her sprinkles by color and shape when I spoke to her last! lol)

My mom worked hard to take care of us when my dad passed away. She had to put up with my rebellious teenage attitude, she is the most loving,giving,caring person i've ever met. & This gc will DEF. go to her if i win!

She always taught me - and still does! - to be positive. Life may get you down but there is a rainbow in the future.
