My Mom said that you can tell when a guy is going to break up with. Us women get feelings about that so break up with them before they break up with you.
My mom is from Sicily. When she was 12 her mother passed away. At that point her father and older brother decided my mother needed to quit school to take care of her younger sister and keep house. She was devastated but obeyed her father. I am her only daughter and it was her dream that I graduate college. When I earned my BFA, she was over the moon!she pushed hard so that I could achieve the dream she could not. Now as a mom to a daughter, I pass the torch of the importance of the education of women to her and cannot wait for the day that my daughter earns her college degree. I want my mom to be sitting in the front row to see. :)
My mom is very caring person. She was a nurse and still visits ladies in the nursing home. She does not judge and loves everybody. She loves to write letters and has been in touch with her grade school and other friends. She is a great example to me.
My mom always said patience was a virtue. I was always in a rush to do something or go somewhere. She always reminded me to slow down and that things will come to me and happen when they should. Never rush things.
My mom can be at times annoying to say the least but she is also a very kind and warm hearted woman. Mom has always taught us to always give to those in need. Now that I am older I find myself passing this advice onto others.
My mother came all the way to America when we were young and worked so hard to make sure we have a better education and lives. She sacrificed so much for us. My mom said you will regret it if you get married and will regret not getting married, so you should get married and then regret it. She is always thinking of us and trying to give all she can. She suffered through breast cancer and hid it until my wedding was over so she didn't burden me. It makes me cry every time I think of how she has given up so much for her kids.
My mom passed away 3 years ago, on my birthday. Unfortunately, I could not get home to be with my siblings when I got the call. My mom used to tell me to find 3 people a day, and give them a memorable compliment. I don't mean finding the perfect girl with beautiful hair or beautiful shoes, I mean finding an older woman, and telling her that she looks pretty in purple, or find someone with average looks, and tell them that they have a wonderful smile. I've seem more people completely light up after hearing the compliment, and had many people start to cry, as they thanked me. Everyone has the need to be noticed.
My mother's best advice to me was that spending time with my girlfriends would make the best memories & would be what I cherished most. She was right, and it just so happens that... she's my best friend.
I'm glad my Mom encouraged me to pray about my attitude.
One thing I inherit from my mom is her strength. Her strength to be so strong to provide for me and my 8 other siblings. Especially when we were struggling in bad times. I love her for that. I am so thankful for my mom. She is the best. Whenever I needed help she was always there for me. I can't stop saying thank you god for my mother. I am so blessed. Without her I would not be here today. Her strength provided me with even more strength. Which helped me as a person to be strong in a world of imperfection. That is why I love her so much that I wouldn't trade her for the world. For this mothers day I hope to please her with whatever she asks for because she deserves it.
I am so blessed to have my mother here and take care of me. She gives the best advice on whenever I need help or when I am feeling down. She encourages me into become my best form and on how to treat others with respect and care.
My Mom told me whenever I am in a dilemma, I should make a decision that gives high regard to my well being, my boundaries, and my values. Because in doing so anyone I deal with will learn to respect me and understand my worth.
My mom isn't here anymore but she is with me in my heart and will always be with me. Happy Mothers Day Momma 2

My mom has always taught me to give when you can!! Even if it's just your time that you are giving
