Makes: 14 servings
Description: Delicious toffee with chocolate and almonds.
Ingredients:
1 cup
coarsely chopped almonds
1 cup
finely chopped almonds
1 (12 ounce)
package chocolate chips, melted
1 Tablespoon
corn syrup
3 Tablespoon
water
1.5 cup
granulated sugar
Instructions:
Toast almonds in separate pans in 300 degree F oven until delicately brown. Melt butter over low heat in heavy saucepan, add sugar, corn syrup and water. Bring to a boil, cover 3 minutes to steam any undissolved sugar crystals fro side of kettle. Cook stirring to 300 degrees F.
Quickly stir in warm toasted coarse chopped almonds. Spread in ungreased 13x9x2-inch pan and cool.
Turn onto waxed paper, spread, top with chocolate and sprinkle with finely chopped almonds. Cover with waxed paper and turn over. Spread with remaining chocolate and almonds. Cool and then break into pieces.
