Makes: 1 8 oz cheeseball
Description: This is an excellent cheese ball that can also be used as a dip as well if you don't want to go through the trouble of forming it into a ball. Every time I take this to a social function I am always asked by the guests for the recipe. Its a real hit!
Ingredients:
8 oz package
cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup
butter, softened
3/4 cup
confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp.
brown sugar
1/4 tsp
vanilla extract
3/4 cup
miniature semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup
finely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Mix in confectioners' sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
2. Shape chilled cream cheese mixture into a ball. Wrap with plastic, and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
3. Roll the cheese ball in finely chopped pecans before serving if desired, although I usually leave mine plain without the nuts.
I use graham sticks or vanilla wafers to dip, but you could use a little knife and spread on any type of cookie or regular graham crackers, or even fruit slices such as apples.
This sounds great. I am going to make it for the holiday.
This will teach you how to take a simple biscuit recipe, and turn it into a spectacular and colorful display for parties or no special reason at all.
