Makes: 2 sandwiches
Description: A panini with a bit of Latin flair! This pressed sandwich is filled with slices of savory roasted pork and melted Swiss cheese.
Ingredients:
1/4lb
pork tenderloin
2
bakery rolls, sliced in half length-wise
3-4 slices
Swiss cheese
5-6 slices
deli ham
3-4 slices
sliced pickles
1-2 tbsp
yellow mustard
Instructions:
1. Roast the pork tenderloin according to package instructions. I prefer the Hormel pre-packaged and pre-seasoned pork tenderloins for this recipe. While pork is cooking, prepare the additional ingredients for the sandwich and slice the bakery rolls in half.
2. Once pork is cooked, remove from oven and let rest for 5-10 minutes.
3. Slice the pork and assemble the sandwiches. I prefer the following layer order: (starting from the bottom half of the roll) sliced pickles, ham, pork, swiss cheese and mustard. Followed, of course, by the top half of the roll.
4. I prefer to press the sandwich in a panini press for about 5-6 minutes. If you don?t have a panini press, place the sandwich in a pan on low heat and press another pan on top. Hold for 2-3 minutes, flip the sandwich and press again for another 2-3 minutes.
