pretty good movie

I really enjoyed this movie. I read the book after watching the movie and would recommend both to my friends. It had a number of great laughs!!

this movie is drama and comedy! i laughed so hard but yet i cried about the same amount! i reccomend this movie!!!

I didn't want to see this movie at first because I didn't think it would be different fro all the others, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a really good movie & it makes you think.

I really liked this film! Cheers to strong women who stand up for what they believe in. I would highly recommend that all the ladies out there watch this.

Love watching period pieces. This movie made you laugh and cry. It's amazing how some people were so open minded and closed minded in the same era.

Great movie, more for girl's night or for watching with my adult daughter.

This normally isn't the sort of movie I watch but a friend of my mom's lent it to us and I loved it!

The movie was well directed and the actors played their roles very well. Of course, there was the bias against most of the white people, with the black people being kinder, smarter.

The first time I saw this movie...I didn't really care for it. The ending upset me so much that I was in tears!! The second and third time I watched it I was able to appreciate it more. There is some humor but also some serious race issues. I do feel that the average woman would enjoy this film.

Ok I really enjoyed the book and movie was good too! But reading what others thought about how people felt that was overly dramatic well unfortunately if you did not grow up in South then you will never understand that is how it really was for some people during that time period! Over all the movie made me cry,laugh! I must say I enjoyed reading more but Minnie was my favorite! This will be a movie I will watch over and over!

A wonderful story that shows the dynamics of several relationships, primarily amongst the home owners and their help; also the help amongst themselves. The movie takes place in a time where there is still segregation. It also shows a distinct variation in perspective amongst generations. I enjoyed it, movies like this carry with them the writers beliefs and morals, I believe they share a part of them with us through their characters allowing us the chance to relate. If you haven't seen it, it's worth the watch!

It was a great movie.

I thought this was a pretty great movie, as did my husband. He wasn't thrilled when I brought it home, but it caught his interest quickly and when it was over he admitted that he thought it was a good movie as well.
