When we found out that our SheSpeaks staffer Emily is pregnant and due in September, we just had to compare stories, grilling her about all the new ways social media has impacted the experience. Turns out that pregnancy itself has not changed since the dawn of civilization, but the way we handle it sure has: Gender-Reveal Parties! Birth Announcements on Facebook! Pregnancy Tracking Apps! advice? Go with your instinct! Mother's intuition is always right!
Don't try and waste your effort being the "perfect" parent-unattainable and what makes one "perfect" is relative. Be open to different parenting methods/products, but what works for you is your business. Not every parenting model fits every situation.
We did it over dinner, it was my birthday and we had both sets of folks with us. Later I texted close friends and extended family, and then posted on social media~!
Enjoy every moment they grow too fast! Savor it all, I teach teenagers and you need to remember that they were once infants and toddlers to make it through those years!
Just do the best you can, some days you will feel like you failed miserably and then others the littlest thing will make them light up and the world is right again.
Don't be afraid of being a parent. Babies don't come with handbooks. Every single one is different!! ((I've had 4. Take it from me!)) You WILL be a great mom. Don't ever lose sight of that.
Monthly massages and chiropractic adjustments are a huge help to me!
Don't be pressured by social media or Friends. Do whats best for YOUR baby and YOUR family.
Be patient
Stock up on freezer meals.
Let your baby fall asleep on their own in the crib. Try not to always hold her/him when they are falling asleep. They will learn to fall asleep on their own. Best advice I was given!
My advice would be to terry to keep it more private - it is YOUR baby - and you really don't want prying eyes on your pregnancy every step of the way - trust me.
Listen to other people's advice, but in the end do what is right for you and your family. Ultimately you will know what is best for you and your baby.
The best thing you can do for a child is to love yourself first. If you can't do that then you will be treating the mother of child very badly and that will never be good for you or your child.
Eat a healthy diet so that you and your baby will be healthy.
