Yes! When else would I get to meet him/her? (8.4%)

It depends if they looked like they were in the mood for a fan (46.4%)

No way, I would give them their privacy and admire from afar (45.8%)

I think about this more than I should, because I live in New York and actually see celebs at various times. In the past year I saw Michelle Obama coming out of a restaurant (of course there was no way to get near her anyway b/c of Secret Service), and I saw Julianne Moore and BJ Novak (Ryan from The Office). But what am I really going to say to them? "Hi!...I'm a huge fan!!" So I keep my mouth shut because I can't think of anything to say that wouldn't make me sound like an idiot!

I am not the person who would just go up and talk to someone. I am more of a shy person. If they confront me, then I would talk to them.

I have met a few celebrities and once I know it's them, I just say hi even just passing by. Up till now I either get to talk to them for a minute or get a hug, picture, or autograph too.

I saw Jerry Springer and his wife at the movies in Sarasota, Fl. I didn't think it was right to bother them. They were just there to see a movie, not get bothered by fans.

I did see a favorite celebrity in Beverly Hills and he had a look on his face that said do not bother me. You can just tell when it's ok to go up to them or not. I'm a huge fan of boxing and Oscar De La Hoya and I was able to meet him at a boxing match in Vegas. He was very open to meet and greet his fans. I think It just depends on the celebrity, some are welcoming and others are not.

As much as I'd love to meet them, they have a life and are normal people, and it's terribly rude to intrude on that. I save my fangirling for things like conventions and signings.

Jorge Garcia (Hurley, from Lost) always has an interesting rule about meeting fans. He's said that if he's out to lunch or something, and notices you taking a pic of him before asking and THEN you approach and ask for a pic with him or an autograph, he will say no. On the other hand, if you ask first and are polite about it, he will gladly oblige.

We ran into a Celeb at the Malibu Pier while we attended a Cirque du Soleil show and that Celeb was not behaving his best while he yelled about not being able to get a seat for that same night as the show was sold out. I guess he expected someone to be bumped off and to top it off, the idiot was wearing what looked like old sweats (not nice to the very pleasant staff). I was surprised how rude he was behaving and yelled at what seemed to be an agent or pretty much a "handler". Somehow he thought if he yelled on his cell about the incident too, he would get a seat to just be quieted down but was forced to leave when the white tent event began.

My next spotting that made me sour was at Disneyland when we were attending dinner at the Blue Bayou restaurant. A Celeb shows up with what seemed like a girlfriend and some tag-alongs. We had reservations and this Celeb shows up without reservations but was told he would be put on the waiting list. He threw a fit and especially when he requested a balcony table so he would not be bothered. Um, this was a Celeb you mostly see in Adam Sandler's film and no one was "bothering" him. He sat there waiting with others while we got seated and it was nice to see his butt there when we finished our dinner. He even pulled the, "You know who I am, right"? line. He went as far as wanting to eat the restaurant next door where you have to have a membership to even be able to eat there. That whole concept seem to baffle him because he expected an exception to be made. The whole time stating, "See, I want to be able to have dinner without being bothered".
