I subscribed to XM about 5 years ago, and I am disapointed to report that I will not be renewing my subscription. In the past year or two (and since the merge), they have added in rediculous amounts of commercials, several of my favorite channels have be removed, and I no longer find this service a resonable value.

Had Sirius - loved it when it came pre-installed in my Jeep. However, I was paying for my father-in-law's subscription (an annual gift) at the same time. Eventually his subscription was canceled (over a year ago), my subscription just came due, was automatically drafted from my account and not 2 weeks later they shut my radio off. After 45 minutes on hold, it was resolved. Now I got a letter in the mail stating that they only renewed it as a 2 week trial. I'd rather carry my ipod and save the $ due to the hassle! Enjoy the stations, but customer service is lacking.

We, too , have satellite radio and are disappointed in it, although not because of the commercials (we find that the all music stations have no commercials except for concerts while any of the stations with talk on them are riddled with commercials). We are disappointed in the equipment. You buy a kit that has everything you "need" to start listening, but then it doesn't work. You call customer support to get help and they try to sell you another kit. You refuse to buy the other kit because you bought the all inclusive kit, and low and behold, they have a way to fix the problem, but the radio still doesn't come in that clear. We also got the radio for our long drives, but now we find ourselves using it less and less. We can't get clear signals and the static is annoying and the controls are impossible to navigate while driving on both the basic radio and the Stiletto (the top of the line one).

We have subscribed to XM for several years and I have to agree with many points you all have made. I also travel for 3 hour spurts on a regular basis, and XM can be fun. I like Old Time Radio shows and the comedy channels, but yes - all of the comedy channels' ads are pornographic. NOT what I tune in to listen to. Most of the other ads I hear seem to advertise other XM/Sirius programming. Att his point, I could take it or leave it, and I have told hubby that I am perfectly willing to drop the subscription in my car. I would much rather listen to my ipod.

I used to like satalite radio for road trips. I travel between my parents house in NY and mine in MO and it was great because it was constant. My husband and I are just fed up with it now. One of the original perks was it was commercial free. Now there are commercials (what is the point of paying for radio if there is commercials). Not only that but the commercials might as well be porn. Talking about holding an erection and Adam and Eve products. It is embarrasing to list to them no less when we have kids in the vehical. We cancled our subscription but decided on a very long road trip to reactivate it so we had something in the car knowing that the radio stations in the areas we were going did not have the type of music we would like to listen to. My husband calls no problem they tell us 15-20 minutes and it will be activated. We stop for fuel and lunch and forget about it. 3 hours later no radio. Call back ask to speak to a supervisor. Lady argues and refused to send our call to a supervisor. After 45 minutes of arguing she gets our radio activated but still don't let me talk to a supervisor. She said she would take our number and have them call. I knew this was not going to be the truth. Never did hear back but I was gettting tired of arguing. When we get back home we are cancling our subscription for good. I don't get though how the Sirus/XM merge was legal. It makes it a monopoly. Many many years ago they made AT&T break up because of this and now they are working on Microsoft. What will it take to break them up??

We tried this several years ago....and they say they have no commercials...well one of my favorite stations was playing commercials....so I demanded my money back....they finally gave the money back...

We've had XM for 5 years now and there have never been so many commercials or too much talking time as there are now! That's a total downer since the reason we pay for the radio is to listen to actual music. Also since they changed their lineup this year the music selection has changed and I personally have to flip through stations wayyy too often since I don't care for the music as much. We're having a harder time getting the signal in our house too (can't figure out why) in the past couple months, so it keeps going out and I have to keep resending activation signals. Overall I wouldn't recommend.

I have XM in my car I loved having all the channels and when we traveled it was great not to have to try to search for stations. However I was not happy with the cost. After our trial period was over we were offered one price so I paid for that. Then when the time frame was over the cost more than doubled so I called to cancel. A month later I got a bill from XM so I called to find out why I was billed even with the XM turned off. They claimed I never called to cancel even thought I had a date, time and name of person I spoke with. The person I spoke with was very rude and then they turned me over to a collection agency. I call the Better Business Bureau and only then did xm waive the fee.

i loved sirius radio, it is just very expensive so i had to cut my service

love the hiphop stations but I do not pay to hear talking and interviews. I pay for music, the latest music at that.. I like the gossip posts like anyone else..but when I'm driving I only want to listed to the music not the talking. can someone please stop it w the morning shows and interviews?! thank you

I was lovin XM Radio when I got my new car so I extended the service mainly because I love the Comedy stations. Now I notice that after 8 months they just seem to repeat the same skits over and over. If they would get some new material I'll renew - but if it's just reruns don't think I will.

Used to love XM because for commercial-free stations. However, commercials crept in - for other XM/Sirius programming. Commercials are commercials! Worse, the tone of the ads was often at odds with the mood of the music. I can get commercial radio free or true commercial-free with Pandora. I've cancelled my subscription. However, I've given it 3 stars because I loved being able to listen to my home-town sports broadcasts when I lived in a different city.

I want XM radio super bad! My sister got a new car about a year ago and it came with a free trial for 6months! My car is a 2005 Honda Civic and i would have to buy the XM adaptor thing and also subscribe! Wish it would already be installed!

Love it! Received it with my new car (2010 Honda Accord EXL) 3 months free, I loved it and used it a lot but could not afford to apply for it monthly or yearly :'( Good deal if you can afford it. Meanwhile I use my ipod in my AUX jack that came in the car!!! ;)

i love my xm sirius radio.. especially the heat
