Cold Weather = Warm Soups

I am a huge soup eater and could eat it year round. But when it is cold outside I can't seem to get enough! My favorites to serve up on a cold day is Pasta E. Fagioli, chilli, or potato soup. What are some of your favorite soups to warm you up on a cold winters day? Or are you they type that likes a chilled soup in the summer such as cucumber soup?

My favorite soup is homemade pea soup. I use a ham bone. peas, carrots, potatoes, celery and oinions. This soup is so easy to make and is really good. My mom handed me down this recipe after I got married years ago.

Panera's Potato Soup is my favorite! I found a recipe online for it and my family can not get enough of it! I also have a stew that we starting making recently- it has carrots, parsnips, potatoes, corn, and tomatoes (stew meat optional). Its a hardy meal and my meat and potatoes loving husband loves this one!

definitely loaded potato soup is a favorite of ours. My hubby's turned my onto 17 bean soup too - never thought I'd like it, but really do. We also make a soup that hubby and his sister have named "garbage soup" - not too appetizing of a name, but pretty hearty. Cook a ham bone or ham hocks for several hours. Add pork gravy, potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, tomatoes, and one more veggie I can't think of at the moment, simmer that for a few hours, then the last 1/2 hour add cabbage and let that cook until just done. It's actually very good, considering I don't like cooked carrots and can't really stand cabbage - cooked or raw!

I love chicken noodle soup. It's super easy to make it fresh. I like to add rice to mine. I agree that soup is good year round.

I seem to be the only person in my household who likes to eat soup. My faves are chicken noodle, potato soup and veggie soup- all of which are homemade and delicious. I like some soup in cans but not veggie soup. I have to make that at home if I want it. Soups are a good way of warming up in the winter and their filling too!
