Definitely a cat. We have an oversized golden doodle. Love him to death. He's our first family dog. He requires a lot of attention and we can't just leave for a weekend vacation without boarding him. Cats require less time and I can leave my cats for a few days without worrying they are starving or trashing my house.

I have both cats and dogs, I love animals! Our animals love us and depend on us to care for them. I have 3 dogs and 5 cats plus I am a foster mom for 6 more cats. I love all my animals. They love unconditionally!

I have both, dogs and cats. More cats than dogs, either a dog or a cat, does it matter. Either one is great, depends on the individual.

I love dogs and cats honestly! Although I am also allergic to both, my dad is very allergic so I opted for a dog. I wish i could get a cat, but I don't want to make him to uncomfortable to not visit. I have a sweet little toy poodle named Lucy. She is curious like a cat and loves to snuggle. I have not lived with a cat so for now I favor dogs a little more than cats. But like twurtles said, it's all about personality and behavior.

I've always had dogs now I have 2 considering a 3rd lol I come from a family that loves dogs my mom has 5. I am considering getting a cat but I don't know if they would be family friendly?

Definitely dogs!!! I like having mans best friend and the loyalty and reassurance when you're having a bad day that they provide. P.S. I'm also severely allergic to cats!!!! =)

We have always had cats as family pets, because with us all working we find cat to be more self sufficient than a dog. Enjoy our cat that I have become a foster mom to two kittens now. If we were home more then maybe we would have a dog or two too. But for now my vote is for CATS!

I love both but prefer dogs. When I lived in an apartment I was allowed to have a cat and I loved them! So easy to take care of....after the spay and de-claw of course. When we bought our house we got a rescue dog and then another dog. I have had experience with both cats and dogs and love them both but now I prefer dogs!
