Do you prefer a dog or a cat as a pet and why?

We have both a cat and two dogs, we love them both but I so prefer cats to dogs lol. Well I'm more of a homebody and my cat is an indoor cat and cuddles with me and she's a lot easier to care for. My dogs for one example today was raining all day I put them out so they could use the bathroom each time I came back inside I had mud on my face and clothing. lol. Plus my house was all muddy from their out door play time. Cats defiantly for me.

I love dogs. Dogs always know how to cheer you up, they are smart and loyal and snuggily!

I would say dogs because that's all I've ever owned. We just adopted our 1st dog & she's so sweet & well trained.

I prefer a dog. I have had cats in the past and I loved them dearly, but the last one I had was a male that sprayed everything. I cannot go through that again. \

I have cats. Being disabled, I can't walk a dog nor always be counted on to be able to let it out to do its business. Also, dogs are noisier and messier (they lick everything!) so I prefer cats. They can take care of themselves if they have to but they aren't standoffish as some people believe them to be. My cats curl into my lap, sleep with me, hang out with me while I'm on the computer and they bring such joy, fun and comfort to my life. They have their own personalities and it's entertaining to watch them grow up and mature. They're so incredibly sweet.

I have, and prefer cats. I can leave them for a single day & know they are fine with plenty of food, water, and each other for company. I have a sitter who visits if I'm gone any longer. I also installed Foscam cameras so I can view the cats remotely when we are not home.

Gotta be a dog for me . Cats are cute , but I like the attention and love dogs show . They seem to want to be part of the family . Cats on the other hand are walking around the house like , ?why are you here ?? imo

I like both. We have an old cat we rescued 8 yrs ago & he's very high maintenance. We have an almost 2 year old Sharpie/Lab mix we rescued less than a year ago. Both shower us in love & my husband & I couldn't live without either of them.
