The movie was good but the book was MUCH better

I wouldn't consider myself a "fanatic", but to see what the hype was about I did read the book and see the movie. I got through both and didn't completely hate or like them. In the movie, the awkward tension between Bella and Edward was overwhelming, and there were moments were the characters felt as stiff and lifeless as a cardboard box. As for the book, I didn't really care for the author's writing style. To each her own, I guess.

By far the best movie in the franchise. It mimicked the book the closest. The book was much better, but the movie was at least mediocre. The rest of the movies were horrible.

The Twilight book is one of my all-time favorites, but I was disappointed in the movie version. The acting was lacking and the characters seemed stiff. There was an almost campy quality to this. But even so, because I love the *story* so much I got over my initial disappointment and have grown to enjoy the movie in its own right. If you're a fan of the book first, this movie might be slightly disappointing but give it a chance.

Um... So, everyone knows about the books, right? Bella Swan is a weak, stupid, blind little girl in high school. And, if possible, Kristen Stewart portrays Bella as even weaker, even blinder, and maybe even a bit stupider. I have nothing against the Twilight series. I thought the books were fabulous. The movie wasn't great, though. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are great guys. But do they deserve the hype? No. Does this movie deserve the hype? No. But that's what happens when you have a pretty good teen paranormal romance novel turn into a big hit that turns into a major box-office blockbuster hit. The casting choice: Good Lord. Kristen Stewart was a horrible decision. Did you know that Stephenie Meyer didn't even want Kristen to be Bella? Instead, she wanted Emily Browning - you know, the girl that played Violet in A Series of Unfortunate Events? The only emotion Kristen Stewart can portray is that of APATHY. *sigh* It's not a horrible movie. It's just.... not exciting. I'm only giving it three stars because the soundtrack is really good.

I love vampire movies.I grew up watching Buffy the vampire slayer,Interview with the vampire,Count Dracula,Blade,Underworld. All to which were more action packed. Twilight was more of a romance (no action) vampire film. I was not into the first few movies as they were predictable and boring in my opinion. But when the last one came out I'll admit I was impressed. I never read the books but heard they kept a lot out and of course reading a book is always better then the movie critics say.So I think for this one I'd prefer reading them.

This movie is just horrible acting. I wish they could re-shoot the whole movie over again. Billy Burke is amazing and fits his character perfectly.

When I first saw the previews for this movie, I was like how nice a new teen movie I may watch. Once I got the dvd, I really got into it. It was romantic and had suspense I brought the rest of this series. I haven't read the books but I'm pretty sure its way better than the movies.

Cheesy but fairly enjoyable.

Kristen didn't act very well in this movie but I recommend because watching the last movies, it gets better.

Loved the books, but thought the movies were just OK. The actors didn't live up to the image I had in my head from reading the books.

I believe the movie is a cheap version of the book. I read the books and I was really into it, despite of it being the size of a bible or dictionary. I found myself reading more and more everyday, before I know it. I was off buying the next book. The movie, I felt was rushed. It was emotionless. I felt it was okay, but did not upheld the book's HUGE reputation. All I am saying is that it could of been better. It did not held the book's expectations.

I read all the books, and I did like the movie but it did have a very slow plot.

The movie is okay. The books are better, but even then there are better vampire/werewolf movies and books. It's worth watching, but not worth owning in my opinion. I know a lot of people who love the movie franchise, but it's not for everyone.

I liked the movie but after reading the book, I was just a little disappointed.
