I have the original Chi flat iron and I love it far better than any flat iron I've ever used. I have two that I use one from Sally's which is an Ion brand that does a decent job and then the Chi for my crazy curly hair days! The Chi will straighten my hair pretty fast, but there are a few reasons why I reach for my Ion instead of the Chi. The Chi has the type of cord that a hair dryer does so I can't let it warm up before doing my hair and when your in a hurry it kind of sucks. The Chi plates tend to catch my hair and rip it out at times. Sometimes my hair will actually feel fried when I use it don't know if it's the heat setting or using different shampoos or what? I know that my Ion will straighten my hair and leave it filling silky, but it won't be a bone straight type of thing it will give me volume which I have thin hair and that's what I need, but I mean yeah a Chi is a staple to have when you need your hair to stay straight for a day or so.

I have one of these - they really are great - my hair is straight to begin with, but it smooths it so it lays very nicely

I have this iron and love it. A bit expensive but so worth it.

i like it! havent burnt my fingers! & makes my hair lay very smooth holds long to!

I have been using Chi flat iron for a few years now & have been very satisfied with it. For better results, flat iron thinner sections (about 1/2" thickness) of hair so that the heat from the flat iron will penetrate through to give every strand that polished look. I only gave this a 4 star because I prefer a flat iron with a titanium plating for better heat distribution & result.

totally worth it... i love it.. best ever would never go back to my old Flat Iron

Excellent quality straightener. I only gave a four star because I recently found a straightener that is nearly the same by "GVP (generic value product)" for much cheaper and it even says compare to Chi.. Anyways very good straightener and I had one that lasted for years until I mangled the cord.

I have a lot of fine and curly hair. This is the only straightener that will make my hair sleek and straight. I also pair it with CHI hair products. Could not live without my CHI!!!!

I miss this product my mom use to have it, and I well steal it from her and use it. But very pricey.

Works well but I think it's over rated. Ihave cheaper flat Irons that I prefer over it anyway.

Good for relaxed hair near a touch up time. It warms up fast and has a good temp.

this flat iron is really good but I still think that they can improve it a little bit more for girl with thick and big hair

It is very good but what I really like is that it does not have the control temperature.

A tad bit expensive... But worth it in the long run. This flat iron get the job done right and reduces frizz. My daughter has naturally curly hair and lots of frizz this is the only flat iron that will work on her hair, her hair will stay straight for days afterwards! Must have.

If you buy a CHI flat iron from a salon, it is definitely worth every penny. But if you buy a "CHI" flat iron from a department store or a drugstore, it will not be worth the money. The reason is because there are a HUGE amount of counterfeit "CHI" flat irons out there. Anyone who has purchased a flat iron from Walmart, Target, JcPenny's, etc....they are the unknowing owners of a low quality counterfeit. Which is why half the people tell you they love their CHI, and half the people will tell you they hate it and it is not worth the price. Actually, look up Farouk Sues Costco. Costco just lost over $300 million for getting caught selling counterfeit "CHI" products. The Farouk brand (owner of CHI) does NOT to business with any of those companies I named. Even though all of those companies sell a product with the name "CHI" on it. Farouk does business with professional hair companies (salons, and salon supply stores) Which is why you can only get the real thing at a salon. (Unless you have a Cosmetology license, then you can buy if for the wholesale price at a salon supply store.) The only model of CHI that really makes a difference is the new digital model. That one goes up to 430 degrees because it is designed purposely to use with the CHI Infra protein smoothing treatment and requires a higher temperature than the rest of the models. So I would go with the digital if you have really, really coarse and resistant hair. But I would only use the flat iron at up to 400 degrees, never higher than that. The ONLY reason it goes up to 430 is for the Infra treatment. If your hair isn't resistant, then go with the Original CHI. Overall, I would say the CHI straightener is a product worth spending money on, just be careful where* you invest your money.
