Did you know that nearly 1 in 5 girls have missed school because they can’t afford period protection? It’s not just school they miss. It also means missing out on activities they love, like sports practices, drama club, or student council.
At puberty, girls’ confidence plummets, and having to miss activities because of lack of access to period products only makes this drop in confidence worse. Missing out can limit a girl’s potential and opportunities far beyond puberty.
We’re so excited to support Always & Walmart's Live #LikeAGirl campaign to spread the word about this important issue as they work to #EndPeriodPoverty. Always and Walmart are donating a year’s supply of period products to 50 teams in 50 states, so girls in need don’t have to miss out on the activities they love because they don’t have access to period protection.

Thank you Always and Walmart for helping all these young ladies.
I've never known anything about this problem. What a great campaign!! Why don't we help any girl who's been worried about attending any activity by not having pads!!
It's so sad to hear that this is happening to young girls, a simple thing that girls need to use each month but some can't afford to buy. I'm glad that Walmart has brought this to our attention and is a sponsor for Always because I was not aware of it. Hopefully people will do what they can and sponsor a girl. I pledge to do this. Thanks Walmart for making us aware.
Wow never knew .
Well done video!
Thank you so much for bringing this to the forefront. I just finished a book set early 1900s NYC. It was fiction, but a lot of it focused on how much poverty there was. Girls being sold to brothels, kids taken care of by thieves who turned them into thieves, not having enough to eat...the list goes on and on. We may have come a long way since then, but poverty in the US is still very real. Even though we may not be wealthy or think we can give, we can. Even if it's a small amount. Someone out there is worse off than we'll probably ever know.
This should not be an issue! All girls should have free pad access in every school in every nation.
Wow I did not know that was happening. Maybe schools should have them in hand for our kids.
This has opened my eyes up to this issue!
Thanks for informing me on this concern.
I had no idea about this problem . So sad that it effects so many young ladies and keeps them from doing many of the things they love. Kudos to Walmart for helping. And thanks for sharing this informational & inspirational article.
Those videos were powerful and a reminder of the many hidden problems in our country. I can't imagine how hard it is and embarrassing for those girls without pads.
This is definitely interesting.
I never knew this was such an issue. So sad! Very informative, thank you.
It's very unfortunate that not everyone has access to the proper feminine products they need. These are essential items that all females should have.
