My kids are counting down to the end of the school year. They dream of long days playing outside, swimming in the pool, and yes, lots of Xbox.

I look forward to three months without fights over homework or permission slips to sign. But I also dread long days with my kids just staring at screens and whining, "Mommy, I'm bored."

Which is why we need to work together. Calling all SheSpeaks moms, grandmas or anyone who has ever been a kid themselves!

Share ways to keep kids busy over the summer. They can be big plans or little projects. They can be for big kids or little ones. All ideas will help! Anyone who gives a suggestion will be entered to win a set of 5 Outdoor Games, perfect to occupy your kids' time.

Here's how you enter:

Comment below! Give us an idea you have for filling up those long summer days.

AND/OR

Tweet a way to stay busy this summer using the hashtags: #SheSpeaksSummer, @SheSpeaksUp & #Giveaway.

Bonus: We have some upcoming kids programs! Make sure your SheSpeaks Profile is up-to-date here so we can see if you qualify.

And now, some summer ideas from the SheSpeaks staff to get you started...

"I always loved loved loved the summer reading program at the library." - Carol

"I'd like to to do both big things and little things with my kids this summer - everything from riding the tallest roller coaster to collecting rocks." - Jenny

"My summer vacations as a kid were pretty standard - I went to our town's "summer rec" program that had swimming lessons, tennis lessons, and arts & crafts.  Lots of boondoggle lanyard making." - Emily

"My 15- year old is most likely watching entirely too much Netflix!  She will take a week to do a service trip with her youth group. " - Missy

"We bought a kids cookbook and my kids looked through it. We're going to try to make a new recipe each week." - Susan

"My sister has her kids on a schedule so it's similar to school (they are 4 & 6). She has time slotted for coloring, writing/reading, outdoor chores, meals and snacks, and 1 day a week adventures (pool, zoo, etc). Also they are doing swim lessons. " - Lori

*One lucky commenter or Tweeter who enters by June 11th, 2017 will be chosen at random to receive a Franklin 5 Game Beach Bag Combo Set, valued at $29.99. We usually do a few sports camps in the summer, and a summer reading program, and search Pinterest for easy recipes and crafts that the whole family can enjoy doing together. Also, we make use of our aquarium season pass because it is indoors where it is nice and dark and cool.

When we lived in Orlando, FL, we went swimming as often as possible during the summers. This was during my childhood and after I had children. Summer fun is a bit more challenging now because there isn't any close public pools. Now we using sprinklers, sidewalk chalk, and art&crafts to keep busy!

We participate in the summer reading program at the library, we also go to story time at Barnes and Noble and at Chick-fil-a. We go hiking, swimming, to the zoo, park, science center. This summer my oldest is taking a Minecraft candy making class and we do story time at our pottery painting place too. We keep busy.

We join in on our library's reading list but we also like to add our own challenges in as well. (I offered my kids a cash prize for each chapter book read during the summer - the catch is they have to complete a detailed book report) We're members of our local zoo so we visit quite often to get out of the house and there is always something new to see or some activity to join in on. We signed up to do bake sales for No Kid Hungry The local towns in our area host a summer concert each week. We can go to a free concert and picnic almost every night of the week!

I have a 19 month old so it will be fun to watch her and help her learn how to play in a pool, swim, play outside, write with chalk on the patio, play with bubbles etc. She is my rainbow baby so I'm so very excited for all of these things!!!

We have one small vacation planned. But we try to take a few road trips nearby and just visit museums or zoos or local attractions. Getting together with a couple of friends too to either go bowling or another fun excursion. And I have my son signed up for 3 weeks of summer camp too so hopefully that will keep us busy.

To defeat boredom, create a chore jar and for every 5 chores a child completes, allow them to pick from a treat jar with such things as a sundae bar, movie night, an extra hour before bedtime, pizza for dinner, etc. They'll be encouraged to do their chores and feel rewarded for their hard work.

When my kids were younger we had a schedule they "helped" with housework then we would have a picnic outside and we take sidewalk chalk books super soakers and then I would bring out the portable DVD and popcorn and have a movie...now that they are teens they bring out sketch pads adult coloring books they still love the movie in the evening and they play tons of yard games like ladder ball and bocce
