Whether you’re attending a wedding or just love looking at pretty dresses, get ready to swoon - because we’re covering the Fall Bridal Trends of 2014. The strapless look of the Brides of the aughts has given way to the Year of Romance in a return to chivalry just in time to enter our Bridal Trends Giveaway & win a $100 Pottery Barn Gift Card!
Her Serene Highness, Grace of Monaco | Mary Queen of Scots | Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge |
designed by Helen Rose | designed by Monique Lhuillier | designed by Sarah Burton |
The first trend on our list, Long Lace Sleeves, may be inspired by 3 Royal Brides, namely Grace Kelly (whose fashions will soon be appearing on the big screen in the biopic Grace of Monaco with Nicole Kidman in the title role), Mary Queen of Scots (whose costuming has been burning up the tv screen in the CW's REIGN, and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. |
Ersa Atelier | Winnie Couture | Monique Lhuillier |
The next trend is The Blushing Bride as all manner of 'think pink' dresses continue in popularity - every shade from fuchsia to peony to powder is available as evidenced by celebrity brides Jessica Biel, Reese Witherspoon, and Kaley Cuoco. |
Vera Wang | Monique Lhuillier | Oscar de la Renta |
The last trend is Sculptural Fabrics and shapes, with the return of duchesse satin that creates a tailored look in contrast to the Boho, unstructured feeling of recent years. |
Pronovias | Rosa Clara | Theia |

I really prefer something simple and classy, but not to frilly.
I like the one Kate Middleton has on by Sarah Burton.. I think it really is a beautiful dress and when getting married if possible we all should be a princess..
I meant to add I love the Theia one as well but could use a bit more decoration on the bottom.
I like A-line gowns with some beading. Nothing too crazy, but the Oscar de la Renta one is gorgeous.
I like pretty simple dresses, not too much lace but it has to have just enough touch of lace at the same time.
I was married in a long sleeve lace gown and 16 years later would pick it again!
Off all the dresses above, I like the Oscar de la Renta dress. Though I am not a fan of strapless, I need a sleeve/cap sleeve- something to help hold the dress up!
I think I will always compare a gown to Grace Kelly's dress...but I do like the Pronovias design.
I like a ballgown with lots of lace and seed pearls. You'll never again have an opportunity to wear something like that, so go for it!
If I were to get married today, I might choose something with a '20s vibe or bohemian style.
something sleek, simple, yet elegant. maybe pink :)
I like just an accent of lace with silk and satin.
I want Sleek and Simple! Nothing too fancy! :-)
I like a ball gown with bling
I'm going to be honest I love the long sleeve dress by Helen Rose. So, elegant and pieced nicely.
