As if fast food wasn’t fast enough, Burger King is planning to make it even faster with a new home delivery option. The fast food giant is known for trying out experimental services (like adding booze to the menu) in a bid to keep up with rivals like Wendy’s and McDonalds. Now BK is hoping their new home delivery service will be a hit with customers.
A recent report from the LA Times discusses the details of Burger King’s plans for bringing burgers to your door. Currently home delivery is in trials and is only available in a handful of restaurants in Washington D.C. Customers can order online or call the store, there is a $2 delivery charge and a minimum order of between $8 and $10. Almost everything on the menu is fair game for delivery except fountain drinks, milk shakes, coffee and breakfast foods.
Keeping the fries crispy en route could be a challenge, but BK spokeswoman Kristen Hauser assures that “New delivery packaging technology, in conjunction with thermal bags, keep food hot & fresh.”
If successful, the home delivery service will expand to 16 more stores by the end of the month. BK officials are hoping to see the same kind of success here in the states that they have already seen in Mexico, Turkey, Brazil, Columbia, and Peru where the service has been available for quite some time.
What do you think of Burger King offering home delivery of their fast food?
Would you ever consider ordering delivery from a fast food restaurant like Burger King?
I think that would be very neat. We live in a secluded area where there isn't much delivery service, but there is a BK about 12 miles away. How cool if they delivered.
I would love this....but they should definitely include fountain drinks or breakfast food....I love those things too lol
Interesting,
In one work YUCK!
Yes would love it we need more places that has delivery services . Yes awesome !!!!
The no drink would not be a problem. My kids do not drink soda. I do and they lecture me all the time how it is unhealthy.
I would be very interested for my family. I have adult daughters and small children. This would be so convenient for me. I think the delivery costs are more than fair and reasonable. In my area most delivery restaurants have a minimum of 415 purchase plus $10 delivery charge.
yuck!!!! i can't see myself ordering burger king and having it delivered to my house. i would prefer something like subway delivered in. i think in rural settings it probably won't work the best for dlivery times. they should offer drinks too. at least bottled beverages.
Not trying it. Never been a fan of Burger Kings food. Everytime I have been before I had sorry experiences. However KFC or a some sort of southern food delivery at desent prices I would try.
I read about this online. I think they are gonna try it out in the South first. Id order if they did it. My family enjoys an occasional fast food meal.
are people getting more lazier or is it just me? like seriously an app to order food?
I work at burger king and i think this is a horrible idea. It is hard enough to please customers in the fast food industry as it is. I think this will just cause more problems.
I would try the service out at least 1 time. But what does that do for the people that never get any exercise or have a food problem? They are already not moving around enough. At least an effort was made to get to the place that serves the fast food. With this service there is no need to move at all. it could possibly make obesity in America worse.
as long as welfare does not pay and i dont have to listen to people boo hooing that they are over weight because of this service any one with sense knows daily fast food can put on the pounds so go on bk give it a try
really? delivery? wow in this day and age when we are all fighting the bulge ( a lot are) this should not be.
