Valentine's Day may be months away but that doesn't mean a great date can't happen tonight, this weekend or this month. Whether you're single, dating or married, it's always a good idea to have a few solid date ideas in your back pocket for the right occasion.

Dinner and a movie is a classic. But even the classics can use an update every once and a while. And, for many of us, a free hour, afternoon or  evening  is incredibly precious. So let's make sure that time is best infused with fun, excitement and a little bit of romance.

The SheSpeaks Team has put together 5 Great Date Ideas that are pretty easy to put into action. But we want to hear from YOU. What date ideas make it on your Top 10 list? What have you dreamed about? Or what great date did a friend go on that you wished someone would do for you? Let's share our Best Date Ideas and create a fantastic resource for SheSpeaks members to turn to whenever a little inspiration is needed.

And your efforts won't go unrewarded. Post a great date idea below and you'll be entered to WIN a Romantic Dinner for Two Gift Basket. A second lucky winner will receive a Picnic Backpack ($50 value) and a third winner will receive a Best Romantic Classics 100 CD.The contest will start Wednesday, September 28th and will end Tuesday, October 4th at midnight EST.

5 Date Ideas:

1) Spend an afternoon in an orchard

You probably haven't been to an orchard since you were a kid. Or if you have kids, you haven't enjoyed the experience alone. Take advantage of the fall weather and drive into the country together and pick some fresh fruit, take a hay ride, and get some apple cider. Then go home and bake a pie together!

Not sure how to find your local orchard? Try this website http://www.applejournal.com/trail.htm

2) Bring it Indoors

Sometimes after a long week, the only place you want to be is home. That's ok. Bring the romance indoors. Pick up some delicious dessert, place a blanket and pillows on the living room floor, light some candles, dim the lights and put on some relaxing music. Don't forget to turn the TV and cell phones off and you'll be transported to your own personal paradise.

3. Get your hands dirty

Take a class together! Cooking in the kitchen alone may not be that much fun, but doing it together can be a wonderful exprience. Sign up to make sushi, croissants or chocolate truffles. If you want out of the kitchen, try a pottery or dance class. The point is to get out of the house and try something new... together.

4. Stargaze

A star-lit sky can be incredibly romantic. If you live where the city lights won't get in the way, pack a picnic with wine, cheeses and sweets and find a great place to look up at the stars and enjoy the fresh air before cooler weather arrives. If you're near a city, don't worry. Visit your local planetarium. The view can be just as amazing. To find your local planetarium... http://www.planjam.com/planetarium.html

5. Build something you can play with

Take a trip to your local hobby shop and pick out a project you can work on together. Maybe build a boat, a rocket or a kite and then take it out for a spin once you're finished.

Now it's Your turn. Tell us your Great Date Ideas!

Since my husband and I live near Branson, Mo, we enjoy going to a show and staying overnight at a hotel. We also browse the shops. It is so nice and relaxing to be away from home for an evening as this feels so special as we cannot afford to do this very often. As a surprise for one of our anniversaries, my husband did all of the booking on his own and surprised me. This was wonderful!!

Going to a out of the way Bed & Breakfast for the night. Leave everything and everyone else home and just focus on each other. Since most B&B's don't have TV's, it's a time for you to connect and have alone time. Plan a nice romantic dinner, stroll through the area, and then back for say a massage or foot rub. Get up in the morning, enjoy a nice breakfast.

My husband and I both love to go to garage sales, flea markets, antique shops, etc. When money is tight, we like to go driving around together to the shops, then pick out the craziest things that we "would" gift to each other. Sometimes we make purchases, but we mostly like finding bizarre items and laughing together. We then spend a little money on a supper out together.

We occasionally do family dates. Not a family outting. We go out on a date, my husband and I, dinner movies, a romantic stroll, afternoon us time, and then spend the evening doing a matching family date. That way my kid doesn't feel left out, and she learns that mommy and daddy need time. She also lears what a loving relationship looks like.

My hubby and I set a goal to ride in a 2 day bike ride next fall (covering over 100 miles). He's not an active person, so we're already starting training. We've been making dates to go on bike rides. I am so proud of him for getting active and so proud of me for trying something different. It's a fun way to spend time together!

My hubby and I got a babysitter and went geocaching. Geocaching is using a GPS to find treasures that are hidden EVERYWHERE. We found a hike we had always wanted to hike and spent the entire day hiking, finding treasures, talking, and having a picinic. Best day ever!

My husband and I have 5 kids, so we only get a date night once in a blue moon. When we get out of the house, We go out for Sushi at a Hibachi restaurant up the street, and then out dancing at the bar where we meant. We also spent a lot of time cuddling up on the couch after the kids go to bed catching up on our favorite TV shows.

We put an old television on the deck and a couple of louge chairs, hooked up the DVD player and had our own outside movie for the evening. Drinks and snacks on the deck under the stars is very romantic and you don't have to share your space with everyone else.

There's nothing like the serenity of a calm lake on a beautiful day. Take a boat ride! I enjoy coasting along in our canoe enjoying nature and throwing in a fishing line every now and then. This date offers nature's beauty, the peace of a quiet lake with just the birds chirping away and the excitement of catching tonight's dinner and then cooking it over an open fire.

My idea of the perfect date is the one I love, plus a bottle of wine! We head down to the beach, lay on a blanket and just talk the evening away!

One of my favorite dates with my husband is when we go out for a walk or bike ride together. We can be outside and get some much needed fresh air. It gives us a chance to talk and actually listen to each other as well.

I would love to plan a day out on a hike. Pack a couple of backpacks with a blanket and lunch and hike up a nearby mountain. That would be suck a perfect day for the both of us and we could enjoy ourselves without any interruptions and no hustle and bustle.

This may sound strange, but some of my favorite dates have been when my husband I worked out together. We push each other, but it is always friendly. Sometimes we play a P90X DVD or we jump rope, lift weights, etc. It's a great way to stay in shape and it's a good example for the kids.

Usually we prefer outdoor activities such as those already suggested..canoeing, park, orchard. An indoor activity we enjoy once the kids are asleep is playing a board game like Scrabble and non-nutritious snacks (chips, candy, etc.). There is something really nice about playing a more adult game than Curious George Discovery Beach (our youngest will be 3 next month), not having to be careful about every word we say (again, our toddler...), and not being a healthful food role model. We also do not have to worry about how things are going with a sitter, what time we need to get home, etc.
