While I have no children, I do think that it is important for a child to understand what his mother is doing all day and why it is important to her to do her job.

I work for a hospital, and I am unable to bring a child to work due to certain regulations. I would love to be able to show them that Mom does really work when she is gone all day.

I work in a Forensics lab and due to security and safety issues I would not be able to bring a child into my workspace. I am currently pregnant though so technically I do take my child to work with me every day.

In a former company I worked for, I brought my daughter every year and she loved it. She learned a lot about the things I had to do every day, as well as how I had to interact with others. I think it is a great experience. Unfortunately with my current career, there are security regulations prohibiting children in the workplace.

My daughter is at work with me every day! I have a 15-year-old daughter and I have worked at home since she was 3 months. Because she has seen the advantages of working at home and because her father and I do not like the idea of a child working and going to school, she has taken an interest in what I do and is training to be my employee and earn her extra money. It will be wonderful when she goes to college to not have to get a part time job away from school but to be able to earn her spending money in her dorm room, or where ever she lives!

my children go to work with me all the time. we have a family owned restaurant and i am a pastry chef. i also clean beach houses on the weekends from march to october. so both jobs are great for kids to come with me. it isn't easy but i know it will pay off in the long run to let them work with me. my parents took me to work with them when i was little and it may not have been the most fun thing i could have done at that age but i don't have any trouble getting up and going to work everyday and i know plenty of people that do.

I remember when I was in school I never got to go with my parents to work. My mother was managing a casino & my father did private contracting work so no kids were allowed in either field. I want to encourage all the parents out there to take their kids to work! They might think it is boring, or act like they do not want to be there but later on down the road they will understand and appreciate it!
