Watched Dorothy Hamill growing up and always loved figure skating. I tried it as an adult, at around age 32. It was not pretty, but I was hooked! It may have taken me longer to learn than some of the other adults in my class, but that didn't stop me. Now, 14 years later, I can do some minor jumps and spins. It's a great accomplishment! Plus I've met some great figure skaters - Michael Weiss, John Zimmerman, Todd Eldredge, Nicole Bobek, Sasha Cohen, Linda Fratianne, Calla Urbanski, Even Lysacek. Knowing how hard it is to do what they do, I have even more admiration for all of them. For anyone wanting to try it - you are never too old! I met a guy who didn't start until his 70's - and he does jumps, too!
never had that dream. I like watching it though!
I remember watching Kristi Yamaguchi skate and she was just so elegant and seemed so humble during interviews.
Kristi Yamaguchi is my favorite US Olympic Ladies' Figure Skating Gold Medalist.
Kristi just brings back sweet childhood memories of my parents and I watching the Olympics and going crazy cheering for her. I idolized her as a little girl.
Kristi has always been wonderful on and off the ice, a true champion for girls to look up to
Should be fun to watch this year since the Nationals were a surprise.
I always wanted to be able to do those humps and twists!
Jumps I meant! Darn auto correct!
Who remembers the Dorothy Hamill hair cut?
