My daughter will be starting Kindergarten in the fall - and I teach high school. Even though she won't be in high school for several years, bringing her to work with me tomorrow is a great way to show her how you're supposed to act in school and start exposing her to all the different teachers, classrooms, lunchroom, etc. She loves it!
I used to take my children to work with me during the year. They are grown up now with children of their own. Can't wait for the grandchildren to get a little older so they can go to work with Meme too!
I had planned to bring my daughter and had received approval from by boss but then discovered that she had a field trip on the 26th. I guess I will have to wait until next year.
The job I do wouldn't allow my grandchildren to be there because it would be too dangerous. I work at a college cooking food for the students.
My children are all grown, but when they were younger I did participate in this program.
I'm lucky that my work actually has a structured event for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Activities, tours, lunch, pictures, and time with the parent!! This year 3 locations, but next year more locations should be participating!
I also work at home and my children get to be with me a ton and help all the time!
Early retirement due to disability. I took my son to work with me every day as we were a homeschooling family and our situation allowed him to go.
I have taken my daughter to my work several times and it was a wonderful experience for the both of us. She loved to see where mommy goes all day while working and she also enjoyed to see the type of work I did. Meeting all my co-workers was great also because they hear so much about my daughter. The most fun for her was when I gave her some of my work to do. She thought that was so cool!
My kids are grown. I did however, take them to work not just on 'bring your child to work day' but several times a year. All of them found employment doing something they love and are passionate about and have awesome work ethics. I believe when children can see what their parents are doing when they aren't home, helps them to understand and positively influences them later on in their lives.
