The best thing my high school Spanish teacher taught me is not to give up.

I say discipline because it taught me to stick with searching for answers until I found them. This means to question every answer I get because 1) so many people have hidden agendas in their answers, 2) so many people give you the easiest answer they found, without doing any work at all, 3) so many of their answers had so many holes in them. Details matter and can make you change your mind 180°.

A teacher taught me how to teach well, something that we don't get much training in, in graduate school when we teach college classes. Improves the whole experience for both me and my students.

My sixth grade teacher told me not to be wishy-washy, to make a decision yes or no and stick with it, be confident in your choice.

The best thing a teacher ever taught me was that grammar "rules" can be broken, and to write from the heart.

I have encountered many great teachers throughout my years in grade school, middle school, high school and college. Each one of them taught me something important during that chapter of my life.

I had a 2nd fr teacher that helped me understand other peoples point of views and not be so biased. Because of this, I believe it was so easy to teach my kids not to look and judge others according to skin color, religion, or sexual preference. They are grounded and true leaders. But they are far from being bulleys and not afraid to stand up for the weak. My teacher was my mentor and confidant. Her love and lobe for others was just one of the many positive qualities I took and applied for my life!

I think unending compassion would be my most valuable lesson from a teacher I had in elementary school and middle school. I went to a small private school and this teacher started when I was in elementary school. New teachers were always given a difficult time by kids, but regardless, she loved us all. She changed grades and I had her middle school, she knew us all and it was a bit harder to get away with things, but I saw her patience and kindness over and over again with the most difficult students. She never gave up and saw something in those kids many of the other teachers seemed not to care to look for. She had occasionally seen my mother after I graduated and she always asked about me. She eventually moved away from the area, but I have no doubt that she ever forgot about any single one of us. That was a great teacher and a greater lesson she may have not realized she taught.
