I like to bring corn and black bean salad. It works because you don't have to eat it warm and it can sit outside for a long time. I just mix a can of black beans with some frozen corn, red bell pepper, red onion, lime juice, salt and cumin, but depending on what I have in the house, I add other things, like avocado, tomatoes or fresh herbs.
I like to bring either my homemade rancho beans (baked beans w/hamburger, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, onion), because they are great hot or cold, or my summer citrus cake (orange, pineapple, coolwhip).
I usually make cole slaw or pasta salad with fresh veggies and baked beans
Homemade pineapple cream cheese jello dish
I have to always take Deviled eggs because i love them that much!!
I have to always bring the drinks it's less hectic, I think as my kids get older I will start bringing a dish, by then I should have a little more time on my hand.
My homemade potato salad!
Sometimes I like to mix it up and bring something different, but I often like to bring a salad made with chopped cabbage and ramen noodles.
