I try really hard NOT to go to the dr. Basically, because I'm forced to pay the "Negotiated rate" of whatever my Dr decides they want to charge. On average, when myself, my husband, or my daughter go to the Dr, it costs $90-110. So this is something we try really hard NOT to do!!!!!

Try to do over the counter medicines, find that going to the doctor is very costly for one that doesn't have any insurance or work at a job that has insurance benefits

I try to not go to the Dr unless it is for an annual physical since that is covered 100%. Just way too expensive since I have a high deductible plan.

I will usually wait for 3 days and if I don't feel better I will get to a doctor. I have a large combination of serious medical issues and I cannot risk something more serious. Luckily my normal every day health is really good.

I first try the natural approach by giving my body time to heal itself, taking herbal supplements/vitamins, garlic, turmeric, cayenne pepper and honey, trying to eat "live" whole foods (fresh veggies and fresh fruits), resting when it's possible, making batch of bone-in chicken soup, and drinking lots of fresh water. If I find that I'm still sick, or something just doesn't feel right, then I will go to the doctor. One of the most important things I know to do personally, is to "listen to my body" because no other person knows it as well as I do. Additionally, you need to make very certain you need to go, because one of the best places to get sick is in the doctor's waiting room. When I do have to go, I don't pick up the magazines, touch more things in there that I need to, I use my own pen to sign in, and disinfect my hands frequently during the wait and after leaving.
