My parents aren't elderly yet but if I could I would visit at least every week! But I can't because I live on the other side of the world from them. If you have elderly parents or family members make the effort to see them! You never know when your last time seeing them will be!

I can honestly see both sides to this however sometimes we need reminding that the elderly should be honored and thanked for every thing they have done in their lives and the support they have provided over the years. I have been blessed to have known both sets of grandparents and I cherish the memories of my time with them. Now my mother is getting older and I need reminding that our time together is getting shorter and I need to take time out of my life to spend more with her.

The elderly need to have support from family as well. People think it is an easy solution to place an elderly adult in care and never visit them because someone else is getting paid to watch them. These are the people that spent their good years raising you and making you the person you are today. Why ignore them or not abide by wanting to visit them?
