Do you make your own clothes, or do DIYs for things around the house? How well do you sew? (Beginner, Advanced, etc.) What things have you created?

I started sewing in my Junior High years in school and love it! I also got the talent from my Mom who sewed clothes for us without any patterns. She would take a tape measure to get our "sizes" and start sewing. I have lots of patterns, material, ideas and more but I am still looking for the time to get started again. I have a new Serger machine and haven't tried it yet....very new to me after all the years on a regular sewing machine!

I used to, about 2002-2004, doing alterations and embroidery. I used to have an embroidery machine, but had to sell itdue to hard times. Some day I would like to purchase another one.

I love sewing baby blankets, pacifier lanyards, and burp rags. I've only started sewing within the last year, but I've been watching my mom sew for years.

I love to sew. My last project was a Halloween costume for my 13 year old daughter. She wanted to be a mermaid. I found some blue material and some shimmery material. I bought a pattern. I liked some of the pattern and parts of it I didn't so I modified it to suit our taste. I also modified it so that she could remove the tail and attach a train and / or leave it at ankle length. She loved it. BTW she also has learned to sew. She helped me sew the costume, we finished it in one weekend. She wore it to school and won 1st place in the costume contest. Since then she has also worn it to a party and a dress up sleep over. Sadly, she has grown a bit on her upper body and it no longer fits.

I dabble in sewing. One Christmas I made cute little aprons for all of my girlfriends. Mostly I am learning how to hem various items because I am always finding things that are too long for my short little self! :)

Yes, I do sew! I've sewn since a very young age. I think it helps you to be able to create exactly what you want and save you money on clothes :) I've made things like shirts and dresses for my photo shoots, and I think I sew at a medium level.

I've always wanted to learn how to sew since I have to get all of my pants pretty much hemmed (short)! Every time I've tried it's been a disaster.
