My mom always encouraged me to be independent. "Never wait for someone," she would always tell me. She reminded me that I was strong and smart enough to accomplish anything myself. Having my own children now means that it's my turn to teach them how to be independent. I know that the best way to do that is not only by what I say but also by example.

My mom always told me I could do anything I set my mind too. Thank you!

My favorite piece of advice from my mom is "do what you're comfortable with and be okay saying no to everything else." I've always struggled with saying 'yes' to everything and then feeling bad (read: completely anxiety-ridden) when I fail. I have to tell myself this almost everyday.

My favorite advice my mom always gave me was to believe in myself. I am always saying that to my kids, if you don't believe in yourself how will anyone else.
