I just read The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart, and it was wonderful. It reminded me of all of the things I love about the Harry Potter series. The writing style is very similar, the overarching plot themes are the same, and the children are the ones tasked with saving the day. And I?m not even mad. Whether the similarities were intentional or not, this book was really well-written. It was such a fun read, and I kept wanting to read ?just one more chapter?!

The Bible, it's a classic, it comes alive to me because it is the Word of God.

I just finished reading "All the Ugly and Wonderful Things" by Bryn Greenwood for my friend's monthly book club! The book was an easy read that I finished in about a week. What I loved about the story was how it was told from different points of view! I found the storyline a little difficult to read since it was about a little girl who falls in love with an older man. She comes from a broken family - a Mother who is a drug addict and suffers from psychotic episodes and a father who makes and deals Meth. The story can be graphic at times and as a Mother of two young girls it was hard to read! However, aside from my personal issues with some of the parts of the story, I thought the book was well written and a great read. I would recommend it to anyone!
