In recent weeks, the new judge of The Voice has stirred controversy over her decision to stop wearing make-up, saying "I don't want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing."

What do you think - is this ground-breaking, or no big deal? If you wear make-up, would you ever go without?

Everyone who participates in the conversation will be entered for the chance to win a $25 Visa gift card. Giveaway is open through September 25th, 2016 to U.S. residents at least 18 years of age. (Congratulations to winner elsmarlouamrman!)

I think it is groundbreaking for someone in the public eye to do it. While it is nothing special fo us "regular" girls to do it I do commend her because she is bringing a spotlight to the fact that it should not be a big deal and we all are still beautiful no matter what. I do think it is brave simply because when I do it everyone in Walmart sees me but when she does it everyone who watches the Voice, an awards show, or picks up a magazine she is in sees it and actually gets to be negative.mi am tough but I can only imagine having to clear out my social network feeds of hateful comments.

Good for her! People on T.V. wear so much make-up, it's like Camouflage.

I'm glad she went without makeup only because she's a celebrity. Unfortunately, too many teenagers and women refuse to be seen barefaced which I think is sad. Nothing wrong with showing the world your natural beauty and I hope more follow her example.

It's not a big deal. It shows self-confidence. I hate hearing on commercials about "covering up flaws."

I only wear makeup when going out to a wedding or something along those lines. I am beautiful without it! I also have Lupus, so it just irritates my skin! I totally agree, many women don't need makeup!

This shouldn't be groundbreaking -- women should be able to choose to wear makeup or go without and not be judged about it either way.

I think it is an awesome thing! It really shouldn't be a big deal because we all are who we are, but as a woman who does go both with and without makeup. I do feel more presentable with makeup, and that really is a shame. We have all been brainwashed into thinking that painting our faces in even the most natural way possible will make us more presentable to others. I can see our future going 2 ways. 1. We continue to paint our faces to point of Hunger games avant -garde style, or 2. We stop all together wearing makeup and basically view it as a hilarious and ridiculous thing that people did back then. It will be a history lesson about females who felt like they had to wear a mask to fit it among society. I am not really sure which way our future will go. I commend Alicia Keys. I would love to see all celebrities and media heads stop wearing makeup. It will give women and girls more confidence and let men see what "real" really is.

It's not really groundbreaking in real life; most of the women I know in my job and life don't wear makeup on a regular basis. I'm not sure how it's going to work out for her on TV and on stage, though: those are situations where I think makeup is expected, and helpful in having someone not fade out under the bright lights.
