Dogs are my favorite because they provide the affection that a cat cannot (my maltese licks my face every time I see him). Cats are sweet though too and more independent. It depends on your needs.

100% dog family here. They're loving pack animals where cats are aloof. We've always had at least 2 big dogs and for a stretch I married into 3! Sure we have to hire a dog sitter when we vacation but they're so worth it.

I'm a big animal lover PERIOD but I think I prefer dogs (Ive had both) more because it seems like cats don't need the attention.. it's like they want attention when THEY want it and not when you want to give it to them LOL! Dogs are always happy to see you and I love that about them.

CATS RULE. I find there not as stupid as dogs. Dogs are made to always want to please you. Cats are independent and actually is the only pet that is Semi-domesticated! I am a dog person. I have one dog. He is about 1 years old now and quite full of energy. I have had cats in the past and they certainly have their benefits. They can be left for much longer periods of time and generally require less work.

honestly, have no preference, was raised around both and had both, love em both! as of right now I own a cat and love her to death but i would honestly love to have a dog, they are easier to cuddle! :)

definitely a dog. I have 2 min pins. they are so lovable and sweet. They have such personalities. they love to be petted and love snuggling. cats seem to not want to be bothered much. if you like a pet that takes care of itself and doesn't need much attention a cat is probably better for you. I'm currently a homemaker and love spending time with my lil pups.
