Do you prefer a dog or a cat as a pet and why?

We have both. I have 4 Persian cats that think they're people and 2 Yorkies who think they're cats. We all blend perfectly, couldn't imagine not having them.

We have 2 Yorkies, they are both 4 years old. Bruno and Sophie, they are spoiled rotten. We also have a 14 year old American Bulldog, Kizzy. We have had her since she was 5 weeks old. Our children grew up with her, we have boys and she is our little girl. Best dog I've ever had or known.

A cat because there are times I enjoy being left alone and able to get things done. However I have sacrificed the ability to get cuddles when I want one. I also enjoy not having to worry about rushing home to take the dog for a walk or the bad weather I'd have to walk in.

I prefer dogs since they are so much much playful and caring. Yet, I've had cats and love them too, but their poop smells terrible.

I am definitely a dog person! I have allergies to both, but that has never stopped me from having a dog. Dogs are so much more loyal, loving, and compassionate. I always joke that I'll be called the crazy dog lady. ;P

I love dogs. Cats are too high maintenance for me. A dog will meet you at the door at the end of the day, letting you know you have been missed.

jetsJewelry, I could not help but laugh because my cats and dog are the opposite. My female cat comes running when I come in and starts meowing. My dog shoots out the door. My male cat doesnt move from his location and finally my birds say hello

I love both, but prefer to own cats. I love when my cat cuddles with me. I like that I can go away for a couple of days & the cats are fine, dogs I would have to either board or have someone dog sit. Cats are easier to take care of.
