I started learning to sew about 6 years ago. I'm 51 years old. It was rough going at first as I had no mentor and no classes. I am much improved and now tailor my clothes to fit! Last year I made drapes and Roman Shades for my bedroom. I did it for less than $200.00. If I had them custom made(my windows are not standard) it would have cost well over$1,200.00. This is pretty serious savings to me. What do you think?

I think you saved lots of money! I think if you got the time to make it then do it! Accomplishments feel great when you finish a project. I have two young children and it getting hard to find time to sew! I had one class in high school and loved to sew since then. I make baby blankets and burp cloths as shower gifts to save money. It's really relaxing that for sure. I would love to learn to start making dresses or aprons.

I am at a addict to buying selling machines. I like sewing but I have so many hobbies that I never really get into it as much as I can. I've been sewing throw pillows that has been my recent addiction. I also have a huge brother embroidery machine that you program and it Basically embroiders it's self. I would love to be able to make my own drapes and all that. I think I'm going to try using YouTube to see other people's videos. But I am really impressed with the blocks I've been reading. It gives me hope that it's pretty easier than I thought and A less daunting tast.
