Uneven haircut - should I go back?

I just got my haircut with a sylist I never went to before. When I came home, I realized the sides were uneven. It is such a pain to go back. What do you recommend? If I just trim it myself, will it look worse? Overall I like the cut she gave me, so I would consider going back to her next time. Should I say something then? Or just look more carefully next time? Has this ever happened to you?

I would at least call her and let her know - maybe she can make it easy for you to go back now or give you some type of discount next time. I am sure that she would do whatever it takes to make amends and keep you coming back. I tried to trim mine once and didn't fare so well.

I'd go back. Since this is a new stylist to you, it'll be a good chance for her to show you what kind of customer service she delivers. If she is gracious about it, you'll have firmed up your confidence that she stands behind her product. If not, why waste your time ever going back. I know if I were a stylist I would appreciate the feedback and a second chance to redeem myself. : )

I would certainly go back. You paid for her services so you should be satisfied. If I were a hairstylist, I would want someone to come back if they were unhappy so I could correct it. Don't over think this...just do it...you'll feel so much better!

I completely agree that you should go back! Most stylists have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. My stylist will even recolor my hair if I am not satisfied with the outcome. Think about it: if you are unhappy, it's potentially bad PR for her so it is in HER best interest to fix her mistake and make you happy. At the very least, give her a call; I'll be she says to come right in! Good luck!!!

If overall you are happy with the cut, YES go back. Stylists are eager to correct this and probably would be disappointed if you didn't bring it to their attention, they want you to be happy. It usually takes 2 or 3 visits for stylist to get to know a new clients hair. Other note, people under stress or having muscle tension on the day of their haircut, it might be even at the hair salon, then you get home relax some... it will become un even at that point. Also ALWAYS sit up straight and legs uncrossed in the chair while having hair services. (if they are crossed it puts you off balance and therefore uneven once you do sit straight). And for men, no wallets in the back pocket... one hip is higher when you sit in the chair.

DONT GO BACK!! for her to be a professional and mess it up is unacceptable. and going back might make riffs, usually the girls ((and guys)) in a salon are friends. pissing people off that are in charge of how you look each day isnt a smart idea.

I worked as a hair stylist for 6 years before I decided to go to Nursing School. And I can tell you from experience.... GO BACK! She wouldn't want you going around with an uneven hair cut. Especially when someone asks you who does your hair. you are her walking advertisement, so she will probably want it perfect. At Least that's how I always felt.
