What is the biggest barrier to bringing guests into your kitchen?

The kitchen is the room where everyone ends up gathering at social events, so we always want the kitchen to be a pleasant place to be.  What drives you crazy about your kitchen?  Is it never quite clean enough?  Are your appliances old and outdated?  Are your counters a mess? 

What little things would you want to change about your kitchen to make you eager to bring guests there?  We want to know!

I'm embarrassed by my cluttered countertops (54.5%)

The style of my appliances is old and outdated (24.4%)

My appliances look bulky and take up too much space (11.8%)

My kitchen is filthy (9.3%)

    My kitchen is ugly and just falling apart. I'm surprised that the roof didn't crash the kitchen table.

    I have a pretty big kitchen but the appliances are way outdated and old looking. The dishwasher, stove, microwave, and sink are pretty bad. But everything else is pretty good we remodeled the cabinets recently.

    I would had said cluttered counter tops, but I took care of that prob this morning. So I would now say the outdated appliances and rolling dishwasher. Blahhh...

    I have a beautiful kitchen!... You just can't see it. My kitchen is very cluttered. It ends up being the first stop up entrance into our home. Mail drop! Storing of all things to shred, trash, process, or leave for pickup on our way out the door. HELP!!! I would love to see my countertop again!

    I would have plenty of room, but I just have STUFF everywhere and it needs a remodel so bad...I just don't like having people in it...

    We finished building our house about 2 years ago, so I have a great kitchen that my husband and I designed. We have plenty of counter space, but our mail tends to get piled in 2 different areas of the kitchen....on the countertop. I would love to get rid of that cluttered look, but my family keeps stacking their stuff where it doesn't really belong.

    My apartment kitchen is a small area, and appliances are old

    My kitchen is pretty big, but the appliances are from the 1980's. Also, my counter tops and back splash need to be updated from laminate to granite or concrete with a glass back splash. maybe one of these days....

    We have a 6 month old Great Dane puppy who ALWAYS has a mess with dog food and drooling ALL over my kitchen. I also have a 20 month old daughter who is always dropping something on the floor our getting fingerprints everywhere, Between the 2 of them I feel my kitchen is NEVER clean.

    my kitchen is clean and spacious but it is very outdated and I have no cabinet doors on some of my cabinets... but I am grateful!!!
