I always had a bumper because their feet would get caught in the crib bars!

My son is 9 mos. old. We recently removed the bumper b/c he's old enough to stand on it. We liked having the bumper b/c it protected his head. We have a bunny that he sleeps with but it's not plush. We read that you're not suppose to have things in the crib with the baby, but if you do happen to that should not smother the baby. I read last year when i was still pregnant that even bumpers are unsafe for the crib.

I just started putting the blanket in with my daughter, she just turned 10 months. She has a glow worm and a seahorse that plays music and lights up in the crib. These toys are stuffed and are medium sized.

We are trying to wean our 7-month-old son from co-sleeping with us (he wakes up to play too early!) We use a large teddy bear propped up against his back so he feels like he's still in bed with us. Works beautifully, and he likes to swing it around in the morning. Hooray for silent toys! He also get a blanket over him. We have mesh bumpers that help keep the pacifier in the crib - I actually took them off the other day and it only took him 5 minutes to scoot to the side and get his foot stuck between the rails and scream, so they went right back up!
