BP has approached U.S. regulators about resuming oil drilling in the Gulf. Should they be allowed to start drilling again?

How do you feel about BP drilling in the Gulf again?
We would love to hear your thoughts.

Yes, we need more oil and allowing drilling is the only way to find it (35.5%)

No, but they should be allowed to drill when the region has better recovered (35.6%)

No, they should never be allowed to drill again (28.9%)

From what I have seen on tv I feel that maybe we should work with Canada for oil. Canada has enough oil, that they found under ground in their soil, that will last them decades. And maybe we should open up the Texas oil plant as well that would help out alot, there is still oil there alot of oil. America is just greedy and want to dry up the oil overseas. Remember when gas was a dollar a gallon that was when we were pumping our own oil, as soon as we went overseas for our oil the price sky rocketed. Go fig.

No , they should never be allowed to drill again. They hold one of the worst records of pollution, lack of respect for the environment and total greed. It's all about the money. Look at the oil still not cleaned up on the beaches and marshes. How much destruction can one company do and get away with it. Their record stinks.

I also read that somewhere in the northern states there are areas that have oil underground. Why can't they just do tests and find where these are and look into that? Granted, it's going to cost alot of money and depending where the drill sites would be, they have to look at the surrounding area. But they're not even trying to find other alternatives. I'm getting sick of the gas prices just because these foreigners are mad at the US.

I think we should hold off drilling for awhile until the region recovers. Lately I have read a lot of interesting info on Wall Street and Gas Prices. Apparently a lot of investors have plenty of oil sitting around ...Makes you wonder why Supply is up and so are Gas Prices. Doesn't make much sense. For a good read google Wall Street and Gas Prices. We should be able to give our earth a break!!!

I believe they have learned from mistakes and know how to react faster to a problem like that but I think the region needs a little more time to recover. Any way what about Alaska. Thats one reason prices are so high because Obama won't allow drilling in Alaska. What happened in the gulf isn't the only reasons gas prices are insane.
