The book was ok. It was an easy read but little things bothered me while reading it. I found it very annoying that the author was constantly reminding us that it was the 60's by saying things like "There is some skirmish going on in Vietnam, I don't think it will last" and "Some singer named Bob Dylan is on the radio"...just annoying. Also didn't like the fact that the author is a white woman and she is writing in the voice of a black woman

It was a great book. I loved every page except the ending. I thought I was missing pages when I got to the end. It ended without any closure and that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that it was a great book. I would recommend it to a friend but I would have to let them know that the ending is lacking closure.

Ok book, it wasn't a favorite but an ok book.

This was quite a good novel. The characters developed into rich full people you really cared about that made it hard to put down. I did take issue with the realism some, as the actions of some characters were not befitting the time period.
