I really enjoyed this book. Great story told by many view points.

Good, easy read!! I am not a fast reader but I had it done in a week! Overall extremely enjoyable!

As an avid reader I am always looking for new material. Read this book last year on vacation and must say it was a fun read that also made you think. Book was hard to put down as you grew very attached to the characters and wanted them all to "live happily ever after" or not based on their character traits. I have not seen the movie as usually movies do not grasp the depths or slight nuances that the written material has. Only criticism I had was the rather rapid way everything ended. That part was a disappointment, Guess you will have to read the book yourself to judge the last statement!

I love, love, loved this book. I couldn't put it down. I could hear the characters voices in my head. I am afraid to see the movie becuase I dont want it to ruin my movie in my head:)

This book is moving. It will make you laugh and cry. I highly recommend it to adult readers. The only reason I felt it deserved four stars instead of five was the underdeveloped ending. I felt as if Stockett left us hanging & wanting more at the end.

Really enjoyed this book! It's definitely better than the movie, which left out a lot of detail. Easy read that leaves you wondering.

Read this in a weekend (lack of sleep) as I could not put it down. Excellent read and makes you wonder which person you would have been

I loved this book, the author and was thrilled about it becoming a movie. I would definitely recommend it.

great read

Really good read that made a recent plane trip go very quickly. The characters were really well-written and believable. A nice mix of humor and heart-break.

i loved the movie really good

Really good book, and great depth to the characters.

Great book

Great book! My only complaint is that the characters are very black and white- either all good or all bad. Which makes it a little less believable because no one is that way! But otherwise, gripping story and great historical fiction.

I read the book first. I liked the fact that the author chose to write about this sensitive topic and has told it from the viewpoint of the maids. It served as a picture of their lives and the lives of those they worked for. Reality!! It had some funny moments some tragic and emotional moments. It was interesting and I liked it but didn't love it as most people I spoke with seemed to do. I recently saw the movie. The ladies playing the main characters really brought the book to life and made it into a pretty good movie.
