Smooth away does make your skin smooth. However if you have sensitive skin like I do then it is not such a good buy. Especially since the directions say to have clean skin with no creams. It works but definitely if you have snesitive skin it will leave it red and irritated.

All it is, is sand paper rubbing your skin raw! Your skin is very sensitive and sand blasting it will definitely irritate it. So I would not recommend the Smooth Away!

Ditto. Great idea, doesn't work. Period.

I agree, waste of money. I wish that it worked! I want a painless alternative to shaving!!!

Smooth away appears to be fine grade sand paper that smoothed off the top couple layers of skin, but did not remove any hair. Don't bother with this product.

I bought this for my daughter. She tried to use it,and it did nothing.I spent 11/2 hours trying to get the hair off her legs.I was determined to use this useless thing! Don't waste your money!

I'm sure the majority of us have seen the "Smooth Away" infomercials on TV. And they seem absolutely amazing! But what they really are is amazingly disappointing. :-( I bought into the impression given by the participants in the infomercial for this product. So when I saw Smooth Away for sale at CVS pharmacy, I just had to give it a try. Come on, not having to soap up and shave? Dream come true! But when I got it home and gave it a try, I was sorely let down. I tried the product on my legs, which aren't abnormally hairy, but nothing happened- even though I followed the directions, the hair still remained. I went back to shaving, and decided to give the Smooth Away product another try when there was just a slight bit of hair growing back after shaving- and in that case, it seemed to work a bit. In addition, it does work well for exfoliation. But that's not the sole purpose intended for this product. In addition, I'm sure there are better products available for exfoliation. With that said, that is why I have rated this product so poorly.

I like this for situations where you're in a pinch-ie don't have time to shave. I used these on my trip to NYC, it was fast, relatively simple, and the pads were exfoliating. The pads are only good for about one use, so I can't justify buying them in the future.

I agree its a waste of money, this was something i had to have and was very disappointed by it. The pads smooth out so fast that you dont get much use out of each one. Even tried it on my husband and he liked how smooth he felt, but i did one small spot on him and the pad was worn out. Would not recommend to anyone either

This is basically pink sandpaper. I got one as a freebie to see if it was like the one I remember from years ago sold in Lillian Vernon magazines - and it was. This might work better for heel calluses. PLEASE don't spend your money on this one.

i thought it worked ok, but even better if you have the NoNo! the thing they sell on HSN to remove hair with 'patented thermocon technology' lol they got me so good i know that..... they send you buffing pads which are VERY expensive to rebuy like 25 dollars for 4 of them or something like that, well guess what the Smooth Away is the SAME thing....so if you have the NoNo! the Smooth aways are good replacement pads. Also i havent noticed they will only do one good shave each pad...im sure you mean roughly, but still i guess i didnt really use them for both legs completley but i thought they would last longer :(

Ok true it does make your skin smooth but at what cost? After i was done with it, i still had a lot of hair and very irrated, dry skin.

I got this for Christmas one year and i was so excited because i thought i never had to shave again. But then i used it on my legs and absolutely no hair came off. I do not recommend this product.

I had heard prematurely great results about this product from a friend and ran out and bought it. Within days the friend told me it wasn't as great as she initially though--and I agree. Sure, the smooth away gets rid of the hair on my legs and makes my skin feel really smooth, but you can use each pad only once--and it only comes with 4 large and 4 small pads. Meaning: You get only 4 "good shaves" with the 10 bucks you spend on the product. The small pads are supposed to be for things like under arms or facial hair--I only attempted to use it on my underarms and I might as well have rubbed a cheese grater under there. It didn't remove ANY of my underarm hair and left me with what felt like excruciating razor burn. Really not worth the 10 bucks; I'd rather just shave.

I bought this a while back and it was a waste of money. It left the spot where I rubbed it on a little raw and pretty much no hair came off. Not even the thin hairs on my arm rubbed off. Was not worth it.
